@Rembrandt just hoping Mobland doesn't lose it's head up it's own arse like Gangs of London....which I fear is already happening off the last couple of episodes.
Definitely has the potential to go full cartoon
Fingers crossed it doesn't

For me - the introduction of the Kat character - was the first inkling of it going cartoon-ish.
Not that I mind cartoon-ish... it was just nice to have something a little more serious for a while. -
The Bondsman
Light fantasy/horror where Kevin Bacon gets murdered and recruited by the devil to capture demons trying to escape hell.
Decent enough and easy to watch 30 min eps.

I'm working my way through my catch-up of the Apple TV+ shows. After Slow Horses, it was Foundation and I finished S2 of Severance last night. That show is so good. Next up, I will be getting back into For All Mankind.
I'm wondering where the hell the new season of For All Mankind has got to. It was supposed to be out late last year.
I checked out of Foundation in S2, might have to give it a another go.

Sirens is a pretty good watch.
The other half suggested it and it’s pretty entertaining.
I’ve proved I have the attention span to watch a show where the main characters are all women.
Kevin Bacon and the Hispanic dude are good fun too
Mrs Antipodean enjoyed it and said I would too, so I'm putting it on my list.

I think the level of violence has already jumped the shark. Instead of a crime drama with escalating mental tension, which is a pity given the undoubted talents of the cast.

It’s bizarre, quirky and weird enough to hold my attention so far.

Clearing up a load of old stuff and came across a Dr Who DVD from the late '00's - one with Christopher Ecclestone. It was bloody good. Had Charles Dickens & Zombies in it. Quirky, well put together and fun.
Tried the latest re-incarnation on iPlayer to see what it was like. Wish I hadn't - utter drivel. How do producers fuck something up so good, so completely?
-
@MiketheSnow I agree, good so far, however you need to pay attention in that first episode. My wife was like what is going on lol.

@taniwharugby Yeah - I assumed it was a ruse. But now I'm wondering if it was a lie with a kernel of truth.
Mobland
Only watched the final episode once, and blazed. But I think my earlier dumb prediction was spot-on? About to re-watch. Thinking I'll do it blazed again - that'll help.- Doing that now... stoned observations to come... maybe...
- Eddie didnae know until then... unexpected. fun.
- Maeve - fucking lunatic. fuck. ing. lunatic.

I don't really get the final scene of Mobland....I sure hope that wasn't it disappearing up its own arse.
Annoying. Disappointing. Confusing
Kinda sums up my life to date!
I think it started going a tad pear shaped for me when two senior coppers were offed without a care in the world and no further mention.

> I think it started going a tad pear shaped for me when two senior coppers were offed without a care in the world and no further mention.Yeah was dumb. If they were trying to be a serious crime show then this should have carried massive weight. Instead it was flippant and corny. But I guess that indicates it isn't a serious show and more of a live-action anime or something.

@Rembrandt I guess because
it was an inside job, the cops had to sweep it under the rug and take the spotlight off it.Toby Jones' character is surely due some comeuppance though
I do also want Eddie to get dealt to, and I still dont get why Maeve is so invested in him, but not Seraphina who seems much more switched on than Eddie and a better horse to bet on

I can't stand Eddie (which I know is the intention, but still), and Maeve still appears a total lunatic that makes bad decisions. Agree that Seraphina should be get a bigger role.
The last 10mins was just daft for me - having Harry stabbed was just silly as the entire show falls apart without him so we know he's going to be fine. Then an entire prison cheering on old mate as he walks somewhere to do something - fuck knows what was going on there.I'll still be tuning in next season though
