but I’m more worried about the drop off we’ve seen a few times this season when Taylor has been replaced.

Which is a worry when Bell is presumably the next in line for ABs if any of the top 3 are injured.....

Mature reaction from some chiefs fans
“It's a bit trite, but now this has turned into something bigger than Africa, I am a little bit concerned about people who say ‘I'm going to show you how I can wave my cowbell around’,” Mansbridge said on Wednesday.

“I've already received threats this morning by phone, by email, from people who are very passionate about it.

“Some person suggested they're going to bury a cowbell in my head, that's how they're feeling about it.”

@Chris I'm not sure why Chiefs fans are all upset.

Maybe don't bottle your home QF vs the #6 seed and you could host the playoffs and ring your cowbells as much as you like.

@Chris at least in 2023 Chiefs fans waited until after they lost the game to jump to the death threats. It's nice that they've retroactively justified the ban by threatening to use them as weapons on team officials

some form of fun in the crowd being banned for spurious reasons?

was this decision made by @Nepia ?

And does this mean he has jumped to his 3rd franchise? If so that bodes well for us, failure follows him.

But I assume he is there because of Stevenson injury? So ENS into reserves. Would have preferred Gideon in there.

Yes, it looks to be a selection decision. Ross is also in the reserves this game.

@Chris there was a thing on tv1 earlier today about tennis players receiving abuse and threats via social media when they lost, almost half due to gambling, we know Barnes and other refs have received abuse too, sad world out there now for many in the public eye.

Pretty sad making threats like that, but banning them seems a bit OTT to me....

Absolute dribble from someone who admits not enjoying super rugby in the first place in the article lmfao

The weird thing is I wouldn’t have read it if you hadn’t said it was dribble …. My mind is strange.

Tl;dr: writer prefers league over union.

Yeah the world we live in is very different with precious people who get their feelings hurt way to easily and over react.
But it is what it is.

Hopefully he will be good to go.
Macca starting on the wing may open the door for more of a barrage of High contestable kicks.
We will miss Fihaki's boot and skill under the high ball..

@Chris not sure I’m reading this right but are you saying the issue is more with those getting threatened than those threatening?

People too precious now to not being willing to accept threats to their life / safety?

Just going back to the cowbell ban, the regular season game in Christchurch between them was a sellout and there wasn't a cowbell ban 🤔
