If Wallace Sititi is in a moonboot, that might add some spice for selection 2moro, depending on severity of injury.

Left leg? In the final he looked like he tried to push off his left leg when he turned to stop a try and he just couldn't. Looked in pain to me.

Gee if only there was a specialist 8 who was recently player of the year. . thinks...

He's playing with the BaaBaas in SA, then he's probably off on a holiday trip to the UK......

    Bridges burnt, boats pushed out.

    By whom?

He would be a fringe fill in, who might get some garbage time in a meaningless game that would then rule him ineligible to play for England, or anyone else. Keen?

Didn't Sotutu already turn down a call up in 2024? I probably read it here but I was under the impression that he was just biding his time until eligible for England.

For whatever reason he has not requested an early release from the Blues

The bridge collapsed in 2024 when Tubby Ryan sat on one end of it and that ripple effect caused all the boats to sink.

It's an opportunity to represent NZ. Against a side that keeps beating us recently, B team or not. He's not going to get a better opportunity here.
But I don't actually know what he is thinking, I don't have the extra-sensory talents of some on here and I don't know if the coaches have even mentioned him recently but they'd have something interesting to say I suspect.

All I can say is that it would be great to pick players who are actually fit to play.

Hoskins Sotutu breaks silence on rumoured England switch and claims Scott Robertson snub 'nothing new'

Hoskins Sotutu breaks silence on rumoured England switch and claims Scott Robertson snub 'nothing new'

Hoskins Sotutu has opened up on his continued All Blacks snub and what his future may hold with the powerhouse back-row being linked with a Test switch.

This is where I read up on his England eligibility - as soon as November this year.

From the tone of his comments it seems like he doesn't think he will be (or has been) given a fair shot to make the team and there's not much incentive to give up England eligibility just to hold the tackle bags at a few training camps and warm the bench.

I'm not sure how much he would feature in Englands plans either but I suppose his agent will be trying to determine that and what the market is for him in Europe this (NH) summer.

I think you've read too much into his comments. They come across as quite humble to me.

FS, not saying he is not humble, I just detect an air of defeatism when he says "it's not something I even think about anymore".... Like he's made peace with the fact he may never get back into the All Blacks setup.

It's just the classic NZ problem of having a surplus of talent and not enough jerseys to go around.

    He was injured.

Here' what Robertson said at he time :
"We were going to bring Hoskins in, but he’s injured,” declared Robertson. “We’ve been considering it over the last couple of days, but with his knee, after scans, he won't come"

He's a player that some people like to make shit up about. A similar rumour was pushed last week

Eh? Our halfbacks have gone off the boil, we're so desperate we're poaching locks from the Netherlands and props from Australia, (props from Australia!) we don't have a clear, class-leading 10, still not settled on the loosies, and we're still plundering Fiji for backs. Oh and our wings have Japanese names or need to learn how to run backwards without falling over, we have to send our 12 to Ireland to learn how to play in the midfield and our coach has the overwhelming international experience of coaching Brazil.
It is doom and gloom, I tell you!

Yeah thanks Duluth. I often forget where and when I read stuff too so it's hard to track and also know how reliable the source was. Certainly wasn't trying to throw out false news.

In that PR article Sotutu basically said he wants to focus on the job at hand and not worry about things outside of his control.

Acknowledges there is a lot competition.

Played the questions with a straight bat really.

No it's not. Razor jettisoned Blackadder and Papalii so now there's just one flavour of Vanilla in the squad in Jacobsen.
