Also RIP Tom Sizemore and Val Kilmer. Neither made a better movie than this.
So yeah, a few maybe equal but nothing better than the movie they all made together.
Do you often argue with yourself?

Like I clearly stated and then reinforced for good measure.
Neither made a better movie than this.

No review as such but I’ve decided to watch Heat again as it is 30 years since it was released.
Fuck me, that sure as hell makes me feel old.

( actually none of the cast did )
Early start so only watched half but still awesome. The other half whinged from the other room that the gunshots were too noisy. Great stuff.
Bro, some of the cast made two Godfathers.
Slightly overrated. I prefer Deer Hunter, Carlitos Way and Scarface
Sizemore did Saving Private Ryan and True Romance. Absolute classics.
Kilmer did.......well he was in True Romance as well briefly.....and Top Secret is funny as fuck if completely incomparable to any of these
John Voight did Deliverance and Midnight Cowboy
So yeah, a few maybe equal but nothing better than the movie they all made together.
> Bahahahahahaha, that movie is Cimino trying and failing to do Coppola - even Scarfarce and Carlitos Way, two films I love, aren't in the same league.
TBF if any movie is slightly overrated it would be Heat, just a glorified TV movie.
I don't have a problem with any of the others you named but Pacino and De Niro, no way.
What ? The Deer Hunter cleaned up at the Oscars, but then again so did the Godfather.
I guess it comes down to personal preference. Both bonafide classics.
Nah, as music snobbery is your thing, film snobbery is mine, you just picked the equivalent of the Jonas brothers over some "cool" rock band you rate.
I'm just as much of a film snob as a music snob thank you very much.
I think we've had this Deer Hunter argument before haven't we ? Not sure why you don't like it, did Michael Cimino turn down Hawkes Bay as one of the filming locations ?
One thing I've taken out of this, Robert De Niro doesn't have as many brilliant movies as I initially thought.

No matter how intense or well he plays De Niro, after a while it becomes a bit samey.

I've never seen that one. Is that Pacino or De Niro ?

im so excited for this, only concern is how much theyve had to cut to fit it into a couple of hours
-
@Kiwiwomble listened to the audiobook earlier in the year. Fantastic story, 2 hours does seem kinda rushed
-
@Rembrandt im hoping for a long one, would happily do 2.5 or longer...it could even work as a two parter, ever chapters is a bit of a cliff hanger so pick one in the middle and do it right (i know theyre not doing it)

Deep Cover - Sean Bean, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ian McShane, Orlando Bloom.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would!
Pretty silly but decent enough.

Heads of State
I enjoyed this ridiculous romp of the American President and English Prime Minster much more than I thought I would

In honour of Michael Madsen RIP…..
I decided to watch Species…..
It’s a pretty B grade flick but does have its good points. The best two being on the stars chest.
Natasha Henstridge could not possibly be hotter and her tendency to get nude is too awesome for words.
Madsen has some cool lines and swagger as always.
‘Tell him he’s about to copulate with a creature from outer space’
Ben Kingsley was a cock, Alfred Molina was annoying.
What the fuck was up with Forrest Whittakers character the empath ? Comes into a train carriage with a dead woman, blood everywhere and an alien cocoon….
‘Something bad happened here….’
Yeah no fucken shit.
Did I mention how good Natasha Henstridge looked ?
2.5 hot aliens out of 5 search and destroy missions

Old Guard 2
Theron looking like a nineties lesbian with that choker and haircut in which she reprised her role as someone trying to look way younger than she really is
Some good links to the original but a complete sequel flop with no ending so you have to wait for film three

Awful but in a good way, strangely enjoyed it too. Throw back in a lot of ways to eighties comedy action. Some fun cameos
