    @NTA

I can buy that, Smith has be huge in this series, he's flat out carried them with a little bit of help from Renshaw (20 fricking years old) & Maxwell in the last one. But overall its been a solo effort. When you look at the teams that have failed in India over the years & the players they've had, doing it with Warner struggling, Renshaw & Handscomb on their first tour, Marsh in the side etc, its amazing. Toss in Starc being crook.

    1. Yes I did read the conversation.
    2. One poster made a comment which you then assigned to another.
    3. Please don't do that it's really annoying. Putting words into people's mouths is not encouraged.
    4. There was no threat of a ban. It was intended as a general heads up about the above.
    5. Let's now cheers up and enjoy the cricket. Three enthralling test matches to date.

If you wouldn't put your penis in there, certainly don't put words in there.

"...I think it's been a a terrific series. Probably one of the best I've seen since the 2005 Ashes series, which was a cracking series, not only the fact that the results were very close, but the standard of play was pretty high, and I think this one is up there..." Chappelli.

Nothing at all to do with this series, but it's cricket and not worth its own thread.

Jamie Sykes has perhaps the best Cricinfo biography.

    http://www.espncricinfo.com/england/content/player/20504.html

Meanwhile, Shaun Marsh puts in a brief 14 ball appearance to obligingly hand India some momentum.

The two minutes I watched included Michael Clarke cockily blathering on that Steve Smith would be looking for a double-hundred and a series victory. He was on about 70 at the time.

To quote Phil Edmonds, "Jesus, why is this chap so annoying".

Which is in fact the link to Sykes - both of them were Middlesex players and appear in the same book - along with that quote.

Spinners suddenly getting sharp turn in the second session. Smith goes and Oz is 208/6.

They may be hoping that first session by Smith and Warner turns out to be decisive.

Fun watching Yadav the Chinaman bowler!

Another match evenly poised at the end of day 2. The last hour was gripping, the Aussie bowlers have performed incredibly well IMO.

If the Indian tail can wag and pinch a 30-50 run lead then it's advantage India. But if we can rattle through them and get the lead ourselves then I'd fancy our chances.

But there is still a long way to go. What a great series.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am tempted to say this is the best series since 2005.

I actually think a 50 run lead to India is even-stevens given they have to bat last, they'll be wanting at least that.

I've probably watched more of this series than the BCs and Proteas one. Not that the cricket is significantly better but the combination of good cricket, pressure, drama and crowd atmosphere make this very comparable to 2005.

Not a fan of either OZ or India but still makes for great viewing.

You'd have to think that if they get Smith cheaply, India will go on to win this. However, if they don't - they'll end up with a very tricky assignment into Day 5.

@mimic I'm happy to use up my kiss of death on Aussies. Sorry Steve! 🙂

Renshaw also goes and they're on the slide.

    Shaun Marsh to save them?

Not yet, anyway - because Maxwell has come in at five.

I'm guessing Marsh is in the Bog?
