@Salacious-Crumb I don't think you quite get the point of this thread.
Crucial's link on the NZ Politics thread brought this article to my attention:https://thespinoff.co.nz/society/22-05-2017/the-white-tangata-whenua-and-other-bullshit-from-the-one-new-zealand-crew/
I like the white people were here first loons, they make for fun reading most of the time.
It always cracks me up as well

It's getting hard to trust the word of your average policeman these days. One of my workmates got a ticket for allegedly running a red light down the road from the office. She would have got away with it too if he hadn't had a dash cam running at the time which clearly showed he entered the intersection just BEFORE the light went orange. A month ago I rolled through an unfamiliar stop sign without coming to a complete stop and got stopped by a copper. I had no issue with him, with Mrs CF in the passenger seat we both heard him say he was only giving me a warning (to my pleasant surprise). A week later I get an offence notice in the post, the time and place are close but it's got the wrong car rego make and model. I write back and explain that there must be some mistake, the officer has got me mixed up with some other collar and that we can attest to the fact he clearly warned me and no more. The cops reply to say that getting all of the details wrong on my ticket doesn't change the fact that the offence happened and totally ignore the fact I was told there was to be no ticket. I can't be fucked taking it further because it would cost me more to take time off to attend a hearing. I think cops is an anagram for fun loving criminals. Conspiracy!

@canefan I am (still) guilty of not completely stopping at an intersection.
The one time I got pulled was in Dargaville on a mid-afternoon Sunday with not another car in sight, so I did a lazy left turn
I tried unsuccessfully to argue Zeno's paradox. Should have known better in the Kumara capital

There's a new one related to the Lions and the ABs that I'm still working on.

The funniest conspiracy at the moment is that Trump has a time machine
Where would he get a time machine? From his uncle John Trump of course, a scientist who did some interesting things in WWII:
This part is actually true: When Nikola Tesla died John Trump was asked by the US gov to review his last few years of notes.
He reported that there was nothing particularly interesting in themObviously this is where he stole the plans for a time machine. Hahaha. Oh and somehow the machine is linked to CERN
The next bit of 'evidence' is a series of books written in the 1890's about a kid called Baron Trump. Here's one of them:
So now people are looking through the books for references to today, ignoring the fact the kids description doesn't really match the real Baron Trump
The last book in the series is called 'The Last President'
I think there is some mention of a riot at a 'fifth avenue hotel' which somehow links to the 2020 election date.. I lost track/interest around here
Oh and the last piece in this masterpiece of bullshit - Trump's time travel is the root cause of the 'Mandela Effect'

This thread is all fun and games (ha-ha!!) but seriously --
Do you think there were people who'd travelled-to and/or possibly even lived in Aotearoa before Kupe got here? I saw some stuff on youtube that felt mostly bullshit but did get me thinking...hmmm.........
(And for that matter, was Kupe even a real guy?)

I know Jesus was only around 2000 odd years ago, but he could walk on water, so didn't even need a boat!
-
@Salacious-Crumb Duh, the Atlanteans.

Did I say, "bullshit"? I meant dogshit.
I don't want to post links here, but the "Skeletons" series by Plumtree Productions at youtube is a start into the craziness. Production values are reasonable, even if the research & hypotheses and dot-connecting is often strained and far-fetched.
