@taniwharugby I have no problem with it whatsoever. It's a form XV, so based on performance against peers. It's not about who would beat who in a one on one contest. In a form XV you can take confounding factors like hormonal differences, differences in lean muscle mass v water v fat mass ratio etc out of the equation. If you don't remove those factors, you can't even compare Super Rugby players (especially All Blacks) with Mitre 10 Cup players without Super Rugby experience, because of their difference in experience and Mitre 10 Cup players never having had to compete with SR players. For ex, Ennor never having competed against Crotty or ALB. Indeed, they could have included schoolboys.

@stargazer this xv is debatable as it is, let alone debating players that arent even the same gender...at least in most cases those in a all male side have at least come up against one another at some point

@taniwharugby Has nothing to do with being PC in my opinion. I agree some spots are debatable, but I think they're spot on with Cocksedge and Woodman. In your reasoning, there could never be one award for men and women in sport. I guess you also have a problem with the Black Ferns being elected team of the year then?

That award has nothign to do with gender, it is about the best 'team'

I thought the selection was fine. It isn't meant t be an Earth vs Mars selection, it is recognition for the best performance in each position irrespective of gender.

Both men’s and women’s seem light to me ( especially the men’s) I guess yachting felt it was unfair to single out a particular member but to me Burling would have been a strong chance to win.
Team must be only a 2 horse race, Team NZ for me -

Strange list. Very difficult to compare some of these "moments" with each other. I mean, Mitchell Hunt's drop-kick was an awesome nerves-of-steel kind of game winner, but relatively minor compared to - sticking to rugby - winning a World Sevens Series or a World Cup.

Best day of my year (and I got married in January!)... will remember forever the showers of beer raining down as everyone at the game jumped in celebration.
Afternoon game too, myself and 3 friends (lawyer, accountant, dentist) were refused entry to one of the shittiest Irish bars in town at 6pm for being too intoxicated
