What the holy fuck is that video!!!
Gold isn't it. A bit of a reflection on how progressives see
black people...I'm sorry,..I mean unpainted people..Surely you mean original people or gods first choice?

Just wait ‘til the Awan family/DNC-Pakistani intelligence scandal hits the fan. Most news media in the ‘States are hoping it blows over and goes away and that’s their excuse for not covering it. But it’s not going away, and pretty soon they’re going to have to cover it.

@baron-silas-greenback I'm also going to be very interested in the approval rating stats over the next few months. Could there be a Candace/Kanye effect? There is certainly room to grow in support in that demographic and maybe all it takes is someone trusted to put forward an alternative view of the world for people to see differently.
...I mean at some point condescension has got to wear pretty thin..
Good Christ Rembrandt. How did you come across that utter abortion of a video? That shit disturbed me more than any ISIS video.

Pro-BLM, pro-diversty tolerant humanitarian liberals at MSNBC be sayin’, “Stay in yo’ lane, boy, don’t get uppity, get back on the planation.” It’s funny — several black rap artists have publicly supported him, while the angriest people all seem to be kinda white. Coincidink?

This is the inevitable “Streisand Effect” consequence of intolerant antifa lefties ”No Platforming” speakers who have ideas that they don’t like. If the wacko activists had left Jordan Peterson alone, he’d be just another nameless professor at the University of Toronto. But they did everything in their power — and continue to attempt — to stop him from speaking on university campuses, and the result is he’s now quite possibly the world’s most famous professor, is an international best-selling author, and now getting his water carried by megastars and his ideas are infiltrating high school students. Well done you politically correct smarty-pants numbskulls. Your “No Platform” strategy is blowing up in yo’s faces!

I sense a cultural paradigm shift happening right now. For all of last year the pressure was on athletes of champion teams to virtue-signal & disavow Trump and refuse the invitation of the traditional victor’s trip to the White House, and you could sense even the champions who wanted to be there felt sheepish and embarrassed about it and looked like they wanted to run & hide (see Phil Kessel). But with the massive success of the Rosanne Barr re-launch on TV, and then Shania Twain getting browbeat, and now these Kanye tweetstorms the past couple days, I suspect we’re going to see some Superbowl champs etc putting their foot down and goin’, “fuckin’ right I’m going to the White House, and fuck the rest of y’all for trying to shame and stop me with your bullshit mind control.” At least, I hope.

Kanye West is a tool, is he still gonna run for Prez?...BTW JL is John Legend who he is texting, there was another text after that which 'JL' screen shotted (word?) where he said something along the lines of if you are going to post our texts, at least promote my new single or summink
can't recall how I knew that...but anywhoo, back to just lurking.
-
It's a pretty ridiculous request from John Legend. "Your politics don't align with mine so please stop expressing your ideas, even though I constantly express mine".

Yes he is a monumental tool. Him and Trump will probably do something to piss each other off in the near future. That will be entertaining.
But it will be fascinating to see how this pans out. The black vote has always been in the bank for the democratic party (at least since the 60s and I believe it was 70 odd percent for FDR) but if that changes all bets are off.

As a matter of interest do we have any idea what proportion of Kanye’s fans are in fact black? Or Democrat voters for that matter. My gut feeling is that celebrities of whatever stripe may have a far smaller impact in voting choices than many think. BTW, I realise you’re not actually arguing otherwise.

No idea who his fan base is and I would agree that celebrities have probably zero impact on elections. But I'm thinking more of this debate actually taking place in the black community and a very popular black entertainer being at the forefront of that.

I am certain that there are many black conservatives who feel like gays “hiding in the closet.” They have major celebrities telling them they have to stay in their lane, and any independent thought could make them being perceived as a race-traitor. So they don’t stick their necks out.
So while the opinion of a celebrity and entertainer won’t likely move-or-change any votes, in the case of KW his actions could have an impact because of his ongoing message, which isn’t really about MAGA or Donald, it’s about thinking for yourself. And so some young black Americans are going to see West publicly sticking his neck out when he has a LOT to lose in the current climate, and they’ll see courage, they’ll see a man who may be crazy but has a fearlessness to follow his own convictions, and he’ll help chip away at their fears.

Agree. The Trump thing is a bit of a sideshow. I'll bet they hate each other before the year is out. But, as you say, his principal message seems to be about thinking and acting for yourself and not being bogged down by group think and victimhood. That's a debate any community should be allowed to have.
As a side note I read some of this John Legend's twitter stuff. He is more unhinged than KW could ever be. Trump embraces white supremacy apparently. I see also he plays the lead role in Jesus Christ Superstar. Must have missed that amid all the howls of outrage at a black man playing the part of a Jew. Or not.
