I'm not against whaling, in fact I don't have a problem with any sustainable food being hunted.
With 8 billion people, you'd be pretty pro-cannibalism, wouldn't you?
I don't think we are supposed to eat our own kind in the long term? For a similar reason you don't feed pig related products back to pigs?

Norway used to have shirts which said "Intelligent people need intelligent food."
That always cracked me up.
Has Iceland signed some form of treaty agreeing to not hunt blue whales? I assume they have.

I can't back this up but I believe there are 'x' types of whales that are allowed to be hunted and am certain that Blue isn't one of them.

Yeah I'd be very surprised if the Iceland govt signed off on this. There has to be a very heavy heavy sanction, otherwise more boats will "accidentally" kill a blue whale and sell off the meat, parts etc. to Japan for some exorbitant price.

I think that's just squeamishness isn't it? Rats will certainly eat other dead rats - and I bet wild pigs will eat a dead wild pig. No shortage of human cannibals. We pretty happily eat cattle and about 80% of their DNA is the same as ours.

I don't think so? Those two cases you said are probably infrequent events rather than part of daily diet. I am sure restaurants have to exclude Pig related products that go to pig farms so it isn't part of the pigs regular diet

The guys who came last time - Bartman, Redbeard, His Bobness, Mojo and a couple of others whose names I forget - thought it was so delicious they decided to stay....indefinitely...
