@nepia I wish he'd scored that try, would've been neat with one on debut and one on 100.

    Herald rankings:

    13. Jack Goodhue - 6

Accidental Liverpool kiss dispatched Crotty. Unruffled demeanour under pressure. Good lines rewarded with try.*

    Nuts.

B Barrett for me. As Hansen said we built pressure in the first half which allow us to score the points in the second. "They had the momentum for the first 20 and then we got a bit of ball and forced them make some tackles. Whilst we didn't score the points we wanted, we put them under a lot of pressure and in the second half we were able to take advantage of it."

    Goodhue. Retallick. ALB.

I like Crotty but we can’t built a midfield around a guy whose average game time is the first 10 Minutes.

    Went BBBR, Goodhue and BB.

BB pretty measured but slowly took control.

Thought some credit for pulling away on the scoreboard goes to DMac. He had some very good touches at the right moments with passes setting the outsides free and a nice interchange with BFA to get the Wobblies back-pedalling.

BTW: Isn't it nice to have BBBR back as default poll pick?

Whatever backhanded compliment the NH press throws his way they would all love to have him/

@taniwharugby looks like it was Andrew Alderson. Would have expected better.

He's good normally, albeit more of a cricket guy.

BBBR was outstanding and great to see him back in open spaces. Vaea take note, you can do the tight stuff and do the flashy stuff...

Cane was great over the ball. I thought he was excellent.

Goodhue was very good but for me Ben Smith shaded him for just the absolute bucket load of tidying up he did.

Retallick of course, then Goodhue and Naholo. With the notable exception of his brain explosion (spear tackle on Folau), Naholo was awsome. But he has not a lot of fans here in the Silverfern forum.

Retallick easily man of the match. ALB and Naholo just ahead of B Barrett for others.

Hard to see how other teams will combat AB second half onslaughts this year, due to the athleticism of several forwards and instinctive interplay of backs finding space - once they have tired out opposition starters.

I’m a Naholo fan and have even had the shining armour ready to go, but I thought he a very mixed bag last night. His decision making is a very iffy at this level. Not talking about that tackle, it’s the ruck play and positioning on D.

I picked Goodhue because he was solid on defense and for his first appearance did not put a foot wrong. Barret is always a game changer and his cross kick and try shows his impact. Same with Naholo. Makes mistakes but also had two tries and is a game changer. Can not underestimate what game changers like Barret and Naholo and Iaone have on a game.
