Allblacks v Victoria , the score was a hundred and something to very little , and kirwan made him look stupid .
He was so excited beforehand then it turned into a nightmare
Massive diff between who you played and “a mate” played.
Still a good story but........

Memory failing me a bit right now.
With: Thrush, Waldrom, Weepu.
Against: Waldrom, Tiatia, Collins, So'oialo, Nonu, Lauaki, Masoe, Jane.There's probably more but everyone was so much better than me it was hard to tell the difference between AB and club player. I'm still scarred by Jane, made me look like an absolute invalid.
Did he fend you?

@act-crusader yes it was at Olympic park , but Cant Remember the year ,
They played there twice within a few years , it was the first one ,
The second my son played at halftime and I was running around coaching them on the field feeling intimidated because Richard Loewe was standing on the sideline watching 😀

As I am French, I will be a bit off topic. I have played with the following French international players : Gerard Cholley (he was already old but came for a varsity game to lend us a hand), Jean-François Gourragnes and Dominque Erbani (the latter in an Oldies game).
Cholley doesn't come across as the Varsity type!

I played for Putaruru from 94-96, roughly 50/50 As and Bs. Who was your team @ploughboy ?
