<p>I certainly can't think of any. Too much pizza, not enough wheat germ and riboflavin.</p>

<p>Strangely enough, their CBGB brethren <a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heartbreakers'>The Heartbreakers</a> are getting there. Like the Ramones, they grew up in Queen's, NY at the same time. Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan are gone, and when Richard Hell expires they should investigate the plumbing.</p> -

<div><span style="font-size:14px;">Last night at Albany Street Studios, Dunedin, we Chills celebrated the completion of the recording of our new album <strong>'Silver Bullets'</strong> with a fish and chip meal shared with long suffering family members and then the playback of one hurriedly mixed track.</span></div>
<div> </div>
<div><span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>The album will be mixed in London in August/September and we are now discussing release dates. </strong></span></div>
<div> </div>
<div><span style="font-size:14px;">I am thrilled to report that, after fifteen days of twelve hours plus work (with brilliant sound engineer/co-producer Brendan Davies doing considerably more than that) we have completed this challenging adventure with everyone not only still talking to each other but, in fact, closer, friendlier and all excited at having produced something special which we know will stand proudly alongside anything The Chills have released to date.</span></div>
<div> </div>
<div><span style="font-size:14px;">I can't wait until you all get to hear it and decide for yourselves.</span></div>

<div><span style="font-size:14px;">My heartfelt thanks to all who have expressed their belief in our music by making this possible.</span></div>

<p>Found these guys while stumbling around a little while back and keep going back to youtube to listen to more of them. The are a plethora of 'retro' funk bands around in the US and Daptone have got a good thing going on as well in more of a Northern Soul style with Sharon Jones and Charles Barkley but I love way these guys have got that Alabama southern soul thang going. White boy, brought up in the church to be a preacher, ends up looking and moving like a spastic accountant but man can he sing. Tight band too. Add some keys and you'll be hearing F.A.M.E and Muscle Shoals all over again.</p>
</p>
<p>First clip is obviously a produced one but the second is even better being acoustic only with only a central mic.</p>
<p>I hope they get a record out soon as I'd buy it.</p>

Sometimes you get caught up in other shit in your life, and forget completely how awesome some things from your youth truly were. <br /><br />Just take a moment to appreciate this recording of a great track, and acknowledge the awesomeness of this album.<br /><br />

Nick you may be a common western Sydney bogan, but in my book you're alright. <br><br>
Faith No More and Soundgarden on the same day at Soundwave is very tempting (with Ministry as a sweetener)
