@Nepia only 1 other show kept me going even after I was over it like TWD did, was Lost!

I liked Lost all the way through ... except maybe that religious group/cult in the ruins storyline that went nowhere.

I also gave on on TWD a couple seasons back...such a shame because I loved the earlier seasons and am mad zombie fan. It just got dumb.

As for rewatch. I reckon I've gone through The Wire maybe 4 times. Band of Brothers about the same. Still put on random Seinfeld/Simpsons(season 4 through 10) from time to time for a laugh. Friends up to season 5 is still worth a re-watch. Just finished my 3rd run of Gavin & Stacey, absolute classic that show.

in terms of the zombie genre it's impossible to beat 28 days and weeks. love them both.

    is Negan dead yet ?

He was definitely more menacing the less we saw of him if that makes sense.

one show I struggle to find online is Married with Children although I can console myself with various clips on YouTube. Al Bundy is an absolute legend and the show is possibly even more funny nowadays because of its ability to trigger snowflakes.

Seinfeld and Curb your enthusiasm aren't too far behind.

@shark I'm another one of the stopped watching TWD crew, I checked out a season and a half ago but I was mostly hate watching for the seasons previously. The bad writing did it for me. Stupid stuff happened, characters did stupid things, unrealistic scenarios (even within the world of TWD) kept happening, blah blah blah.

Yeah, I'm done now. Last season was ridiculous and I refuse to waste my time on that shit. It was a great show but declined big time after around season 6 I think. The Glen baseball bat scene was amazing, but other than that every episode has been a different shade of shit.

    @antipodean
Apparently it still rates well for a cable show (although that audience has dropped massively) so it looks like they'll keep beating that dead horse for years to come.

I must admit I'm fucking astonished TWD has made it to a ninth season. I stopped watching in the first season.

It got better after the first season and was pretty good for about 3 or 4 seasons and then it got shit.

Yep, I bailed just before Negan. Thankfully before the fucking tiger...

TBH, Negan was worse than the tiger - I bailed in the middle of the Negan storyline. I wish I had bailed when you did though.

Add me to the bailed out halfway through the Negan story. Even then it was about two seasons too late.

Finally this season with the six year jump, they appear to have run out of ammo and I can't recall seeing a gun. Suspect there'll be a twist though as they've only had to worry about slow moving zombies throughout that time and that may change now.

I've rewatched UK Shameless and also a season or two of Skins. Many repeated laughs!

Rewatching some classic British comedies at the moment. Blackadder

was earlier now up to Father Ted.
Fuck that is a funny show, genuine classic. Gotta love the unique slapstick laughs and how they take the piss out of the Catholic Church. Every priest you encounter throughout the series is unique and fucked up in some way.
Gotta love Father Jack too (“more waster”, as he rightly says during a wet t shirt contest dream..)

    Love father ted eh!

Actually tried to watch some monty python over the xmas break and couldnt work out how I use to find it funny

Python has dated badly save for the odd sketch.

Yeah I heard all about it when I was a kid , then I ended up having a mate who was obsessed with it and we watched a lot in the holidays . I thought it was mostly tedious, “ no one expects the Spanish Inquisition “ yeah , ok . Fuckoff .

Watched Fawlty Towers again last year, has its moments but basically it’s a show about a tall obnoxious prick yelling a lot and hitting his incompetent Spanish employee.
Some British comedies are too dry for their own good.

'Are you being served' is still a fucken good laugh.

I've decided John Cleese is a bit of a strange bloke after reading various bits and pieces about him. Didn't get laid until the age of 24.

At the Station Hotel in Beach Road

Python was always hit and miss but it was revolutionary at the time so you accepted that 2/3 were meh for the couple of skits that were gold.

We are talking 50 years ago. Whilst it was very Oxbridge it was up against the likes of Morecambe and Wise and On the Buses. The likes of Blackadder and the Young Ones and a lot else that came later probably wouldn't exist without Python. It's just that what was new is now passe and more than a bit lame

On the busses was classic? We used to get lots of excruciatingly bad British comedies when I was a kid , if today’s woke kids are offended by Friends I’d love to see what they make of Mind your language.

On the Buses was so cringeworthy and shit but by golly it was fun to watch for some reason.
