    Just a word about the NZ 1st Fives playing in the Top 14 : last week, Ihia West had a blinder against Pau. Tom Taylor was playing centre and Colin Slade full back.

    That's great preparation, we'll be fine.

    @MN5 riiiight...I have stood next to dudes on the field and thought fuck, you are way smaller than you look on TV while standing next to another bloke and think the opposite, as in fark you are way huger!

    I recall thinking the same when I bumped into Rory Arnold and James Horwill. Bigger in real life than they appeared on TV.

    What’s Luke McCallister up to?

    Or, perish the thought, Ian Foster who had a game or two at first five for Waikato. He is already on the NZRFU payroll so would not cost us shareholders any more.

    I played tennis with Ian Foster once (while he was playing for Waikato)
    He wasn't that good. His forehand lacked power.
    I didn't think this comment deserved its own thread, so I thought I'd leave it here.

    I never saw the game, but I’d imagine his backhand wasn’t great either and he lacked pace along the baseline.

    He also neglected to mention that Pau got absolutely reamed 71 (YES 71) - 21 and Mannix has since resigned in disgrace.

    @mooshld Isn't Conrad Smith Pau's defence coach?

    Video of La Rochelle giving Pau a humping. No thank you for Colin Slade and Tom Taylor's defence:

    @ACT-Crusader

    Happy with either - just want to see whoever they choose get some game time at 10.

    Correct. They are not in the relegation zone yet but if they keep this up the last 5 games are going to be real edge of the seat stuff.

    NZRU should sign Hayden Parker, he’d be a better 3rd choice than any of those options and he kicks all his goals

    I could think of worse players to have filling in.

    @Stargazer interesting! It'll be a big pay cut and he'll have to prove he can still play. Nothing from France seems to indicate that he can!

    @Crazy-Horse Yep.

    Also, his season ends by the end of May. How many SR games will he be able to play? Even if the Chiefs would reach the Finals, he wouldn't be eligible to play them. I think there's a minimum of round robin games, players have to play to be eligible.

    I'm not sure that he is even planning on making the end of the season, from the Glasgow rumours
