Enjoyed the fat Thor arc, seeing our own Korg. Hemsworth does comedy bloody well.
I watched Endgame with a young boy siting next to me. He pretty much fist pumped and yelled out in excitement through out the whole movie. Normally this would be annoying but it actually added to the experience, great to see what these movies meant to the younger generation.
Rocket had some great lines, “who hasn’t been into space before?”...
The whole time thing can do your head in if you try and over think it, best just take their word for it and enjoy the ride.
The final battle had a fuck yeah feel to it, pretty much the whole theatre cheered and clapped as everyone reappeared. Only moment that felt off and tried too hard was the lineup of female hero’s all together, felt they trying to do a 2017/2018 Harvey Weinstein thing..
Probably biggest surprise was more Avengers didn’t die/leave. -
Look, joke Thor wasn't too bad. But it's no secret Thor has been my favourite, and it was disappointing as a fan to see him go from Ragnarok, to clearing house at the end of Infinity War and being at his full power, to an ongoing punchline who was pretty superfluous in the end. They gave his fucking power to the boring avenger for Christ's sake

I got the same impression; like #metoo suddenly jumped onto the screen but with hot chicks instead of triggered, butch feminazis 😉
Those little breaks in battle - from all the characters -always shit me tho. In this case, literally thousands of aliens is trying to stop your shit sorry, and you've got time for sassy dialogue?
I kind of understood where Thanos was coming from during Infinity War - overpopulation etc. Even at the start of this when he destroyed the stones "to remove temptation" i thought, well fair enough.
But by the end of this one, he turned into an utter fluffybunny. Can take a blow to the head, tho.
When Cap picked up Mjolnir it was pretty fucking awesome.

Yeah, nah. When he walked down to face Thanos and his eyes lit up and the lighting started flowing, I got so excited a little bit of wee came out.

The Thor arc was excellent , showing the guilt he felt for not stopping Thanos when he really could have.
I liked how they they covered some of the Monday morning quarter backing of Infinity War by chopping off his hand and then decapitating him.
Captain America lifting the hammer was a payoff from Ultron, and some thing that happened in the comics too. And dual wielding Thor with his plaited beard was pretty epic.
So much to like in this movie, a rare example of sticking the landing. Even the time travel stuff wasn’t hokey

I'm being petty really, I thought it was cool. Very cool.
Anyone else feel like their Marvel era just finished?

Yep. If Captain Marvel is the new Captain America then its hard to get enthusiastic. Not a likeable character or actress.

To you, some people like her just fine.
Anyway, Captain America is now the stupid flying man.

@Nepia I’m not alone. Character is super annoying, and they have to solve the Superman issue where she’s over powered.
Having to give a character dialogue like “you won’t see me for a while” because it breaks the plot to keep her around is a problem.

I’m not saying you’re alone, I’m merely pointing out some people like her (as an actress and a character).
But it is that she likely will have to be used in inter galactic stories unless they find a way to limit her power (kyrptonite style) or have a really powerful big bad.

All the time travel movie references was pretty funny I thought.
-
@Nevorian the clanging, a throw back to the very beginning?
Thought it was a great movie, thought Captain Marvel thing was a bit off, why didnt she just find Thanos and kill him beforehand?
Thought Thor was great, at least we can identify more with him there than previously
Some cool cameos though!
Assume that leaves it open for more of most of them sans Stark & C.A...although I gotta say until Stark was narrating that last part, kinda expected him to somehow turn back up.

I thought Cap was going to be offed and stark would continue as the non playing leader with someone else in the suit.

I am trying to judge Captain Marvel as separate from my dislike of Brie Larsen.
Captain Marvel is just..... vanilla... and annoying. It is like an arrogant, boring, narcissist feminist crashing a 21st party of her nephew and just ruining it by being 'that person'. ... standing in the corner looking all disapproving and judgey as she bores anyone that comes near with a weird combination of non humour and pompousness... she will likely have a baby past 40 from a donor and call him Arthur, enrol him in art classes and make him gender fluid until age 18. Actually a bit like Captain America now that I think about it.... except the feminist and baby part. More of a buzz kill than a buzz creator. would you really cheer or get invested in Captain Marvel? I wouldnt, but I would if she was a little funny and a little bit self deprecating, Captain Marvel is American humour, and Thor is British Humour. Marvel heroes are supposed to be flawed.. that is what them relate-able and likable.... Captain Marvel is neither.. unless being a grumpy bitch counts.
I give the movie a 3.5 out of 5. -

I dont get the Brie Larsen hate...she is ok, well away from Sarah Jessica-Parker who is pretty much at the bottom of my list (whatever list I am compiling....
)
That said, havent seen Captain Marvel, wont be rushing out, looked a stupid character...you have the chance to deal to Thanos, who poses a threat to multiple worlds, but nah you are too busy...
As someone said above, similar to DC's Superman who is basically indestructible and unbeatable, and a boring cnut to boot.

How can any straight man hate Brie Larsen ?
Every bloke on this board would fuck the shit out of her given an inkling of a chance.
