The prophecy says that Cersei will die at the hands of her brother so she thinks it's Tyrion....which means it will be Jamie. Or Ayra jumps out of left-field and goes up 2-0.

The prophecy is that the Night King is defeated by Azor Ahai (also conflated with the Prince that was Promised in the TV series) - but that didn't happen! Unless Arya is Azor, third time lucky for melissandre (first it was Stannis, then Jon, and last she said you'll close blue eyes so maybe that was pointing Arya as Azor?)
The 'killed by younger brother/sibling' prophecy about Cersei is book only

"A girl" has done well this series, got laid and slayed!
How amazing would that have been in a cinema!! That was just perfect in my opinion,there honestly wasn't one part I didn't enjoy but I'm glad that was all done and dusted in one episode, was on the verge of tears throughout.
Mellisandre redeemed herself somewhat, I always like it when a baddie turns good.
Cannot wait for a tidy up episode next week its bound to slow in pace again as all heads will now turn to Kings Landing shenanigans.
How many dragons left, couldn't quite work out which one was at the end?

@RLx31 Think we're down to one dragon. Jon Snow's dragon probably bit the dust and that will be shown next episode. His wolfdog is still alive though and that's all that matters.

Melisandre was pretty fucking cool this one last time, just casually riding up then turning on all the Dothraki swords to flame (amazing shot showing them all light up) then coming out to light up the barrier/moat.
Lots of moaning online about this episode, sure there’s been a lot of hype surrounding the NK and undead but if you seriously thought they were the main threat and protagonist then you haven’t been paying attention enough.
The show and books have been about the Iron Throne, the seat of power and the games that are played out to sit on it.Would have been nice if we lost maybe 1 main character just to add to the shock level but otherwise just sit back and enjoy the amazing visuals no one could see because it was too fucking dark!

Had to watch it a second time last night in pitch black darkness so I could see what the fuck was going on. An enjoyable episode for all the reasons mentioned above.
I realise its fantasy and I should enjoy the ride but I cant help feel the main characters have gone all super hero X-Men style where they just never die and single-handedly kill fucken everyone in their path.
My bullshit detector goes off when a Dothraki army is annihilated in 5 seconds yet a one handed Jamie can fight non stop for an hour and hes just fine. Mind you my bullshit detector has gone off every time John is saved at the last minute from certain death. Maybe I'm just a grumpy old bastard.

When Melisandre went to see Dany in series 7 to tell of the prophecy they made a point of saying it could be a "prince or princess" so maybe they decided Arya was Azor Ahai.
Given the TV series is called Game of Thrones, I think they want to finish it with a big "who wins the throne" finale. Whereas the books - A Song of Fire and Ice - will probably put more emphasis on the NK and his story etc.

Oh yeah it could well be a princess, just that Arya covers nothing of the prophecy. Oh well.
Anyway I have being paying attention, that's why I wanted more depth to the NK than he's a BBEG and he dies. That was fucking lame for a huge amount of build up, unanswered questions, etc. The hollywoodization of GoT is complete, as pointed out above - it's a marvel movie now. And like a marvel movie I enjoy the action, but nothing like the early seasons and/or the books. So yeah enjoyed it as cinema/action, but not as story.
Please don't die George, you fat bugger, finish the books!

How about Ayra wearing Jamie's face? So the girl gets to kill the queen like she said she would.

@Machpants yeah fair criticisms, I was hoping for more on the NK storyline too given it was something that built up and up and up as the series went on, starting with the deserter getting beheaded by Ned at the very beginning.
Was also surprised at least one of the main characters didn't die. Has the show become a victim of the actors getting too famous? So they are now reluctant to kill them off until the very end? The attraction of the early series was how unpredictable and brutal it was.

On the subject of Bran basically doing nothing, I read a theory last night which sounds plausible.
If the NK is the Lord of death and darkness could Bran be the Lord of life and light? We've seen how parts of the past have directly influenced the future outcomes and we have seen that Bran can warg himself into the past and influence it.
Take the dagger for instance, it was used in the assassination attempt on Bran as a child and he gave it to Arya at the same spot she killed the NK. What if he saw what was going to happen the whole time and was putting things in the past in place while he was warging . What if the miracles attributed to the Lord of light were actually Bran doing some magic while warging. Resurrections of Dondarian and Snow, potentially The Hound and maybe it was him working through the Red Lady to create the trench fire.

I think (in time) we will learn there were alternative scenes shot with main characters dying. For instance, the NK throwing the ice spear at Daenerys - I'm sure they did a scene where he gets her and it's her lying dead in the arms of Jorah (that would have been so cool).

The show just put up a longer fight than the battle of helms deep, with some amazing cinematography, and this is a TV show. Yet people still complain.
I doubt there is any resolution that will keep people happy with what’s been built up in their imagination.
I enjoyed the hell out of that episode.

This sort of dawned on me today, how fucking lucky i am that this show exists.
As a person who has been reading fantasy novels for more than 30 years now, i had reached a point where i just assumed i would never get to see a decent fantasy movie, let a lone TV shows.
I love Conan, but it is by all metrics an awful movie. There have been many, many other substandard pieces of shit over the years. And the Peter Jackson does the Rings, and shit changes. Fantasy can make money, so lets do it. Then the Hobbit happens.
Now, i get this, on TV. Magic, Dragons, swords, knights, shit i loved as a kid, thrown in with gratuitous violence, tits, and levels of backstabbing that would make Machiavelli blush. It's beautifully shot, has a massive massive budget so shit actually looks good (those Dragons are some pretty fucking good work), and it's on my fucking TV.
Yes, last night's episode was hard to watch at times, but it was a pitched battle against manic dead fluffybunnies, at night, in a storm, with shit on fire everywhere. If they lit it up, deadshits would be whinging about the realism of "uh, what did they have, floodlights at Winterfell?".
I'm just going to bask in the fact that this not only exists, but is awesome, and massively massively loved, meaning we might get more. 15 year old mariner wouldn't believe it.

I actually don’t have a problem with the fact that none of the “main” characters died ... the show killed off main and likeable characters in the early seasons so much that it became the norm so much it got boring.
In saying that I assume lots will die in the next 3 weeks.
