Did anyone else get annoyed that annoying kid killed a fucken giant ?
I mean logically it's possible ( weak spot ) but I woulda loved it if the Hound did it instead, he was nearby.
No, I liked the guts and fearlessness of the attack by her.
The hound ended up looking weak when he was giving up when all around weren't

I'm glad she's gone, hated her character immensely.
Yeah true, the Hound did have a few moments when he lost direction but snapped out of it for his old mate Ayra.
Fuck the "mighty" Dothraki weren't worth shit when it came to the crunch.

Awesome stuff, although it did feel a bit anticlimactic with the NK dying without any real info on what he wanted (aside of everyone dead). WTF was Bran doing? is his role over now that the NK is dead? that's the bit that feels like it's drifted or disconnected for me.
Arya, fuck yeah. Loved that she had that period of flight and genuine fear before dropping the NK with that sweet move- definitely a 'fuck yeah' moment!
Absolutely agree with the frustration around how to raise a dragon, then have fuck all idea of how to use it. I get that in the lore they haven't been around for ages, but holy shit they did some dumb shit.
Was really pleased that Theon got redemption, and Jorah was a boss till the end. I did have a few seconds of wondering if daenerys was going to cark it though.
Presume our last Dire wolf is goneski now?

GOT has some epic characters who I love but equally some shitcunts who are a waste of space.
Bran to me is very much the latter. I was waiting for him to bust out something incredible after 10 seasons of being a fucken paperweight who everyone had to drag around but it never happened.
-
@MN5 I'm hoping that now the NK is gone he can do more - wasn't that bond they had a bit of a handbrake to him using his powers etc? At the very least I'd be keen on Bran doing a back in time 5min precis of the NK and stuff to fully end that arc. But with all the focus on the living that may not happen. Perhaps as part of the battle debrief?

pretty good ep, just fucking film it so we can see it cnuts! I watched in the dark and changed the viewing settings...plus, if we couldnt see, how can Dany and Jon see flying around blindly...
Who was that little chick who fucked up the giant, she has been an awesome character...haha @MN5
With all the fan theories about, I was disappointed thinking that Arya might not get to kill the NK given all her ninja training...wonder if it is going to be her or Sansa that sticks it to Cersei?

@Catogrande dont think he wants to go there again...oh you mean kill her, possibly, so many candidates really

The prophecy says that Cersei will die at the hands of her brother so she thinks it's Tyrion....which means it will be Jamie. Or Ayra jumps out of left-field and goes up 2-0.
-
@Catogrande Yeah - got to be the Kingslayer!
Unless it's Arya's direwolf, who is still lurking somewhere, I think?
-
The prophecy is that the Night King is defeated by Azor Ahai (also conflated with the Prince that was Promised in the TV series) - but that didn't happen! Unless Arya is Azor, third time lucky for melissandre (first it was Stannis, then Jon, and last she said you'll close blue eyes so maybe that was pointing Arya as Azor?)
The 'killed by younger brother/sibling' prophecy about Cersei is book only

"A girl" has done well this series, got laid and slayed!
How amazing would that have been in a cinema!! That was just perfect in my opinion, there honestly wasn't one part I didn't enjoy but I'm glad that was all done and dusted in one episode, was on the verge of tears throughout.
Mellisandre redeemed herself somewhat, I always like it when a baddie turns good.
Cannot wait for a tidy up episode next week its bound to slow in pace again as all heads will now turn to Kings Landing shenanigans.
How many dragons left, couldn't quite work out which one was at the end?
-
@RLx31 Think we're down to one dragon. Jon Snow's dragon probably bit the dust and that will be shown next episode. His wolfdog is still alive though and that's all that matters.
-
@Sneakdefreak https://www.inverse.com/article/55343-game-of-thrones-rhaegal-drogon-viserion-died-how-many-dragons-does-dany-have-left
According to this - there's still two.
-
Yeah we see a glimpse of a greenish dragon flying overhead which should be Jon’s Rhaegal
But both he and Drogon will be hurt, if you look at Drogon when he land next to Dany after Jorah dies you can see a huge hole through one of his wings -

Melisandre was pretty fucking cool this one last time, just casually riding up then turning on all the Dothraki swords to flame (amazing shot showing them all light up) then coming out to light up the barrier/moat.
Lots of moaning online about this episode, sure there’s been a lot of hype surrounding the NK and undead but if you seriously thought they were the main threat and protagonist then you haven’t been paying attention enough.
The show and books have been about the Iron Throne, the seat of power and the games that are played out to sit on it.Would have been nice if we lost maybe 1 main character just to add to the shock level but otherwise just sit back and enjoy the amazing visuals no one could see because it was too fucking dark!
-
Had to watch it a second time last night in pitch black darkness so I could see what the fuck was going on. An enjoyable episode for all the reasons mentioned above.
I realise its fantasy and I should enjoy the ride but I cant help feel the main characters have gone all super hero X-Men style where they just never die and single-handedly kill fucken everyone in their path.
My bullshit detector goes off when a Dothraki army is annihilated in 5 seconds yet a one handed Jamie can fight non stop for an hour and hes just fine. Mind you my bullshit detector has gone off every time John is saved at the last minute from certain death. Maybe I'm just a grumpy old bastard.

When Melisandre went to see Dany in series 7 to tell of the prophecy they made a point of saying it could be a "prince or princess" so maybe they decided Arya was Azor Ahai.
Given the TV series is called Game of Thrones, I think they want to finish it with a big "who wins the throne" finale. Whereas the books - A Song of Fire and Ice - will probably put more emphasis on the NK and his story etc.
-
Oh yeah it could well be a princess, just that Arya covers nothing of the prophecy. Oh well.
Anyway I have being paying attention, that's why I wanted more depth to the NK than he's a BBEG and he dies. That was fucking lame for a huge amount of build up, unanswered questions, etc. The hollywoodization of GoT is complete, as pointed out above - it's a marvel movie now. And like a marvel movie I enjoy the action, but nothing like the early seasons and/or the books. So yeah enjoyed it as cinema/action, but not as story.
Please don't die George, you fat bugger, finish the books!
