Paywall at NZ Herald...

@Duluth IMO there are very few journalists - let alone sports journalists - who properly research their articles. They're either inadequate, lazy or under so much time pressure that they skip searching for facts from reliable sources. Well-referenced Wikipedia articles are often better than what they produce. And as far as writing is concerned, some journalists have no clue about grammar, punctuation and spelling. Proofreading finished texts is, apparently, also something that doesn't happen anymore. I'm not sure whether it's due to the training they've had, or working in click-bait driven media where every second counts, but it only seems to be getting worse and worse. And then I haven't even started yet about the author-less articles. I can't imagine paying for these low-quality write-ups.
What's the old saying ? Pay peanuts get monkeys ? Journalism in a nutshell

I think it's evolved.
"Pay monkeys, get faeces thrown in your face"

@MN5 so you think they should pay the likes of Twattue more, and the quality of his writing will improve...
Ha, I don't even mention him and you bring him up.

I miss the daily posts from TR informing us that rattue has written another article (that he hasn’t read apparently)

@MN5 I see you failed to answer my question though...same applies to your UNcle, Gregor Paul et al.
If they each had a dollar for every time you mentioned you hadn't read their articles they'd have earnt a fortune by now.

Ratpoo was a selectoral genius last RWC (remember how he was certain DC was passed it and needed to be dropped)
Can’t wait to see what journalistic gems he has for us later this year.I thought the beauty of the paywall is that we wouldn't have to see his gems anymore?
I like @MN5's idea though, we need to find an eccentric multi billionaire that will kick in $1 everytime @taniwharugby mentions he hasn't read their articles. Although, the hole they leave will likely be filled by someone equally inane.

So I actually tried the paywall thinking there might be something decent in the premium section (which was foolish of me to think NZH produces anything decent). Turns out most of the premium content was New York Times articles which are free to read on the NYT website. Cancelled and thankfully they didn't try to ping me with a 12-month exit clause fee.
