    This is straight pornography:

The way Stokes drops the bat and trudges off is just happiness in it's purest form. Hook it to my veins. The actions of a man who realises he has been comprehensively bettered by a superior human being.

He got that to move in the air big time, something Boult has been struggling with so far this CWC. He's looking bloody ominous, batsmen will not be looking forward to facing swing at that sort of pace.

Australia is guaranteed a semi but the final 3 spots are still wide open if we don't win today.

11 is still possibly enough but now the England game is shaping up to be must win for both teams

@mofitzy_ We could still go through without winning another game if Sr Lanka lose to either RSA or India - either or both of which is very likely. England, on the other hand, need to win their remaining matches against us (likely) and India (less likely) - I can't see Pakistan losing another match from here.

    That’s a lot of fun
England are in trouble, if Pak win both their remaining games England have to win both theirs. Drop 1 and they are fucked.

Yup we can lose both our games and still go through.

    Great link.

All going to plan there will be an India v Pakistan semi which will make broadcasters very happy.

I'm not sure Pakistan will displace us though ... needs a lot of NRR changes for them to get up. Will have to dominate Bangles and Afghans, without doing a Pakistan πŸ˜›

They shouldn't. My prediction is we sneak in with Pakistan and India winning all their remaining games.

True, another positive from the game last night is Neesh and CdG getting us past 200 meant our NRR didn't take too much of a hit.

India are in a tiny bit of shit here. 5 down with the wicket playing silly buggers, and only 4.5RPO

    Ten to go

Shaping up to be another tight finish if the Windies don't collapse.

Windies in trouble -107/7 after 27.

Just realised, Aus v NZ is at Lords on Saturday just as the heatwave rears its head in London - 33 degrees is predicted! Big change from earlier this month.

    @nzzp - aggh. FML.

No idea what the fudge Stead (and Kane) are basing this on. Even if Munro fires in one game (IF!!) he's still odds on to go cheaply in the subsequent games. Hmmm actually, what's his best trot of runs in ODIs? will have to hunt that down I reckon.

Is Nichols still injured? if so why hasn't he been subbed out of the squad? I'm in the anyone but Munro camp now - Open with Blundell, Southee, Macca!! just make a call and drop Munro.

DW reporting temps of 38C in Germany, which is apparently a record.
