They're putting it on at IMAX here in Sydney - largest screen in the world I'm told by wikipedia - and taking up roughly one-third of the size of a rugby field, I guess it just might be:

Were we in the same room last week? I watched last week with a Saffa from my work, and it was killing me to stay restrained. Any while I did have shorts on, my English mate next to me was wearing only y-fronts. It was kind of disturbing.

Midnight in Hongkie. Get together with some kiwis probably around 10pm after Halloween festivities done, smash a couple of drinks, then smash another 10 pints during the game as the nerves get to me.

then either kick off in a big way around 1:45am or go home with the phone off dreading the next few days.

Midday kick off here in Canada. No food, no drink - not by choice but two days out from a tonsillectomy it just can't happen. This should ensure I will be even more insufferable than usual both watching the game and on the fern.

At least if the upset should happen there will be ample supply of painkillers.

It's such a fucken pain that it's at 5am and not 7 or 8. During the 99 WC mates and I would think nothing of drinking all night either at a flat or on Courtney Place and then tapering off a wee bit as the games approached. Have tried to organise a really early brekky but I'm having fuck all luck so will watch with the boys if they get up.

That, right there, is a true mid life dilemma! I wouldn't know what to do!

If with close mates, it would be sweet as we would drink and stay awake.

I'm off to my mates farm where we won't be doing an all nighter but will drink heavily from about 4:30 am!

Just a note to Aucklanders planning on heading to pubs in the city or around the Shore to watch the game, the morons organising the Auckland marathon have chosen this Sunday morning to have their marathon. So roads will be closed from as early as 2 am in some areas. Be aware of this. You can find details of road closures at the following website.

We've won 2 world cups, I was too young to drink for the first one, so it's a rare enough event to have beer for breakfast.

I watched the quarter and semi, alone in my apartment but with a Facebook chat with some mates in NZ and at the games. I went to bed early and set the alarm both times, clearly no show of getting sleep afterwards. I contemplated heading out, or even going to London but after much thought, I will stick to a winning formula, can't change things up this late in the tournament.

So I'll set the alarm for 1:30am or so to give me at least 90 minutes to be fully with it. The only minor change I may make is a beer or 2 for the nerves. If we win, I'll turn that into a beer or 10 and head to meet up with some mates, if we lose I'm not sure what happens. Sleep will be unlikely, so it could be a long tired, grumpy day.

Sometimes I wonder why I do this to myself, and wish that I didn't care so much...but that's just hedging. It will absolutely be worth it if I get to drink all day Sunday.

god I have no idea where I'm going to watch it. Some stupid twat (me) decided to book in their 40th for Sat night.

Basically have no choice but to try and push on through. Which won't be easy. But fcuk it it's the RWC FINAL. surely I can stave off being an old ba$tard who can't stay awake past 1pm for one friggin night.

I have purchased a couple of trays of redbull.. think I'll buy some boxes of no doze!

will see how the night goes but hopefully watch it in town somewhere will be good to have some atmos.. not that I'll be remembering it most likely!
