to me it feels more like a commercial stage show than the challenge it used to be. It's the microphones, and the "ooh which one will they do" followed by "oh it's the old one, they don't respect you bro" and the legislated allowable responses. It's a sideshow, play the bloody game.

And it's lead by a bloody half back.

Note: the advantage shit is absolute horseshit though.

We don't put those microphones there. World rugby loves the haka for the commercial aspect

yeah, i am sure the NZRU and AIG hate it, and wouldn't have a bar of it if it wasn't for WR

    The mics or the haka?

Not for the players. I think its always been a marketing tool. Since the Buck days I think it means more now to the players than before. It was probably regarded as a cute novelty back in the 70s and earlier. A relic from the colonies

I dunno, I think it has a lot of meaning for NZers still. My wife who is a Pacific Islander absolutely loves the fact that the ABs and other Island nations do it, sees it as a mark of respect to their cultures, particularly in the case of NZ where Maori culture hasn't always been celebrated.

I only read the headline as usual, did the Irish writer mention BOD disrespecting the Haka was the reason he got injured ?

The all black and kiwis haka doesn’t bother me, the other sports teams jumping on board is cringeworthy though and the David Currie era of Hakas for just turning up was embarrassing as hell .

Yeah, this. Fuck 'em. Their teams can go warm up under the posts or whatever. The crowds love it, like Quade booing it's great when they give stick back, and I reckon it fires the opposition players up too - every interview I've read has said that. Often it actually a hindrance to ABs as they come on over aroused, which is why they now do a huddle before kick off.

Look at the French 'V' they did to us! That is the sort of response I love and it would have definitely fired up the French

The French, above all others, really love and embrace the challenge of the Haka. Others should take their example

The deeper we go into the tourney, the more Aura grows

For those not aware (most of the forum, I'd say), Ewan McKenna is not a rugby journalist. I think soccer is his sport, and he regularly annoys Irish rugby fans with his anti-rugby diatribes.

In saying that, people are spending WAY too much time worrying about anti-AB comments in the media and on social media. They only exist because of NZ's success etc. Just let these sort of things go...they are not going away.

The aura is so strong that Jamie Joseph and Tony Brown have rubbed some of it off on Japan.

I hope watching Ireland get smacked made the Irish Haka-moaning idiot really f**king miserable.
