    That I can get behind

A wing who covers centre Helps his AB chances to be get #23 shirt at least

Behind Bridge & Reece for AB wing spot ATM

NZ SR teams are intriguing this year Alot of teams in transition

I don't understand the Rieko talk to #13 talk

You get an England Int'l talent in Marchant at #13
Dude should carve up Super Rugby

    I agree

Rieko wants to play 13 but he still needs to earn it. I'd start him on the wing and give him the last 20mins of matches at centre

If his defence is good enough etc then it becomes an option later in the season.

It seems The Blues have. taken their most potent attacking weapon moved him from space into traffic.Does Reiko have the vision to create for his outsides ? will be an interesting watch.

Perhaps they simply want such an attacking weapon to have more time with the ball.

Maybe thats the theory, I would have him on the wing personally .It may be a genius move or stifle the Blues backline completely.I think maybe the latter.

Without being too negative, they haven't been exactly rampant last few years either.

    Nothing has happened yet

I suspect Ioane will have plenty of starts on the wing.

Haven't seen any of the Blue preseason.
One question - is Akira looking fit or fat?

The flow on effect from Ioane playing in the Perth (and not a week later) game seems to be ongoing.

    @Duluth

Do you want our yearly bet (Home and away)?? I think last time it was a $100 shot of whiskey? I'm happy not to do that again.... I can still taste the hangover and that was a year ago +

5 pints of winners choice at winners selected location (in Auckland). (5 pints per match so if we both win a match it's square)

    What say you?

I'm happy for Akira to build into the season, instead of the previous years of grinding him into the ground with no rest. Good for Sotutu too, am a big fan.

When we had that bet last time we both wanted to try a top top whiskey. A bottle would have been far too much for a simple sports bet but a shot, while expensive, was doable.

It was a long season, so @duluth had enough time to save..... 🙂 (It actually may have been one game each and we went and did it anyway, I can't quite remember. What I do remember is drinking too much whiskey and feeling rough as the next day!

Early rounds can be a real lottery anyway regarding refs. They are a bit rusty and the 'new' interpretations in play for the season often need to settle in with some real life examples.
Hopefully it doesn't wreck the game (or season) for one of the teams.
