Very much enjoying The Last Kingdom. Shame there is only 8 episodes.

Reminds me of how fucking dumb and impatient Uhtred can be, but the series now parallels my own working life: I have <strike>little</strike> no tact or patience for politics, but do what I do well enough to keep me around :)

I spent part of my holiday break watching all ten episodes of the new Netflix series <strike>"The Making of a Murder." </strike>correction, "Making A Murderer."

It's a single piece in ten hour-long installments. Probably (almost certainly) the most insane documentary I've ever watched. If you like a good murder mystery with roller-coaster twists & turns, be sure to check it out, understanding in a truth-is-stranger-than-fiction way that if it was a drama you wouldn't believe any of it. And it might -- just might -- make you question the legal system and motivation of rogue corrupt police forces

My brother put me on to that and also pointed me in the direction of a reddit discussion on it. Certainly a disturbing individual and case.

Have been binge watching Vikings after enough people told me it was good. Do recommend. Think Game of Thrones with less T&A and dragons, and more stabby stabby and intrigue.

Anyone else watched discovery turbo? Quite liking gas monkey garage and fantomworks, that guy on chasing classic cars is pretty boring though . The American chopper series is about three years old and cut short due to Paul sr abusing his wife , google tells me Pauly jr has been very successful since he parted ways with his dad .

Yeah, I just recently watched it, on a whim - it wasn't in my list of stuff I want to watch but Rusty's mention of it peaked my interest. Good show as I like a decent alternate history. I do find that the stakes don't seem that high at times - or at least they don't seem as high to the characters as they should.

Just started watching Fear of the Walking Dead - I assume you've all probably discussed this in the thread but The Walking Dead franchise don't do themselves any favours when it comes to addressing claims that they don't like black people. One disappears after the first couple of episodes and the other turns out to be a dodgy dealer. Meanwhile they have 4 hispanic characters, a Maori character, and a half Maori/Hispanic character who looks indian to cover other ethnic bases. I'm on the 4th episode now, it's a bit so so, but I assume like the original it will get better as it develops.

Was having a chat about this the other day, one of the best post apocalyptic stories I reckon is the stand . King points out the geeks , tech heads etc will naturally gravitate to Flagg because he offers them protection and purpose . Curtis character is like that, I'm going to be interested to see what he does when he realised the rugs been pulled out from under him for good. It's a very different show to twd though, I liked it and the black character you have yet to meet is pretty cool. I hope he bucks the trend and lives for a while.

His character is Travis Manawa, and I think there was a reference to NZ and/or Maori in there early on.

I liked FTWD, especially the first couple of eps when shit started to hit the fan, but like others, how relaxed everyone was about a lot of it wasn't right.

Cliff Curtis said in an interview how stoked he was that they wanted him to play a Maori .

The third series of Endeavour (The prequel to Inspector Morse) has arrived. The first episode was a bit too convoluted but the acting, mood and attention to period detail was great.

I'm late to the party with Fargo but I'm hooked. I was reticent to watch this on account of Billy Bob Thornton is far from being my favourite actor and Martin Freeman usually plays, well Martin Freeman. But Billy Bob is great in this and Freeman is not quite so samey. The rest of the cast are just great too and the writing is bloody good although a bizarre storyline.

Highly recommended.

yeah I had heard some average reviews of S2, not to mention there is no continuation anyway as I think it is set about 30 years before S1?

I thought S2 was great, and all the people I know who have watched it (in the real world) thought so to - watch the first couple of episodes for yourself Cato to see.

Because of the tone of it I reckon you should have a bit of time between watching it and the original (kind of like how you'd be best to watch Paul Thomas Anderson films with gaps if his style could annoy you).

TR: It's a prequel with the Dad who runs the diner as one of the main characters. The main policewoman is a character (albeit a minor one as she's a young child).

FOTWD (SPOILERS): Good to know that the writers of FOTWD are carrying on with the stupidity from TWD. Lets leave the city gates open as we leave, then lets let loose a horde of zombies that kill numbers of people all so we can save 3 people. I have half an hour to go in the last episode.
