The Gentleman: A return to the London gangster style movie for Guy Ritchie(more Lock Stock/Snatch than Revolver) that I thought was an enjoyable couple of hours. Colin Farrell was hilarious in this, he has a smallish role but had me in hysterics the entire time. Quite a decent cast: Mathew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Farrell, Henry Golding, Eddie Marsan and Charlie Hunnum.
I watched this last night, thought it was a good watch!
I have (had) a strong dislike for Hugh Grant as an actor, but thought he was superb in this, and as Nepia says, so was Farrell!

I'm watching this tonight
Watched Crocodile Dundee with the kids last night. It's dated as fuck, but still an entertaining watch. I always preferred the 2nd one.
We sat down to watch CD about 30mins ago until we realised it wasn't on Netflix - so went with Happy Gilmore instead
yeah, it's on Stan

Saw a thriller on Netflix with Henry Cavill, Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver and wondered why I'd never heard of it. Watched it. Now I know why I never heard of it cos it might just be the worst thriller ever. The Cold Light of Day.
Basically one long car chase around Madrid with lots of bullets flying except none of it makes sense, don't even think the actors knew wtf was going on. Terrible, terrible tell script where two people keep having a conversation to remind everyone what is happening and what they should do next. Poor Henry got shot and beaten up multiple times. And ran. He ran a lot, when not in a speeding vehicle. Bruce karked it fairly early on, which he probably asked for when faced with the rest of the script. Oh, and if you think any plot points go anywhere or mean something later on...nope. Actions are explained 'hold this rope!' 'look over there!' but motivations and explanations get nada.
1 star for Henry getting his shirt off out of 5 the director and/or writer had serious blackmail content to get those names for this dog.

@Mokey I have stopped watching stuff just cos Bruce is in it, he has taken on alot of shit roles last few years, and I started to watch one with him on the cover, killed inside 5 mins, I bailed about 10mins later (despite the hot female lead)...but you'd have thought with him, Cavill and Weaver, expectation of quality would be there.

Mad Max 2
Much better than the original. You can tell that the budget was higher as the stunts and effects are a huge step up.
The supporting cast were better too, including two that don't even say a word (Dog and the Feral kid). I'd forgotten how hawt Virginia Hey was in this movie.

@taniwharugby You know the script is terrible when not even Weaver can make it sound ok.

Once Upon a Time in London
Looking for something to watch, saw this, '30s gangster flick about the rise of organised crime in London. I liked Legend, and i do like a good gangster film, so i gave it a nudge.
It is not a good gangster film. It's really quite shit. There is fuck all in the way of a coherent story. The characters lack the charisma you always attribute to a gangster in a movie. But on top of that, it's terribly made. At least 2 key conversations are not heard, as they play the soundtrack over the top, i n a montage like scene. So you sort of jump forward while missing a link.
2 bashed bookies out of 5 wait, how did that just happen?
Avoid.

Had this recommended to me, so finally watched the Indian 2012 fantasy movie "Eega".
The story is about a man who is killed by a rich jealous rival for his girl. He then gets reincarnated as a fly, and spends the rest of the movie getting revenge. The film is well balanced with action, humour, suspense, and (in the first 30 minutes) romance. The CGI is well done, and does not detract from the well plotted storyline.
This is the most enjoyable movie I've seen in the past 5 years. At one point, both the missus and I were crying with laughter. Before Iast night I would not have thought that I could identify and cheer along with a fly as a character, but the movie was so immersive, that it was easy to do that.

The full length movie (dubbed) is on YouTube (disclaimer, I watched the subtitled version)

Con Air.
Quite the intellectual film this, a thinking mans action film. Really good deep diving into the thought processes which go into the criminally minded, with a few emotional and tear jerking moments. Something for the engineers too, as they all work together to solve the problems which come their way. A fascinating delve into psychology, the human brain, team work and endeavour.
A two hour journey of self discovery for some of those that society has abandoned, capped off with an Oscar worthy performance by Nicholas Cage. The letter writing opening scenes between him and his daughter, are utterly moving. Written, and acted, by true genius at the very top of their game.
5 Bunnies out 5 Back In the Boxes.
(I got emotional writing this, it's that good)
