The Hunger Games
What fucked up person came up with this???
Interesting film though for sure. Lots of themes running through it. Although watching kids in a violent war is perhaps not for me.
3 cannons out of 5 blueberries
My 3 kids have watched all 4 movies 3x each and the older 2 have read all the books, all in the last 6 weeks of lockdown. Something about it just grabbed them
It's not a bad series. I liked the movies.
Same here

I read the books too ( I know I know..)
Found the whole propaganda angle very weird, in the final acts of the series they are hanging back not part of the main uprising. All about going along with a ‘doco crew’ to film these short ‘propos?’ to inspire everyone else. Rather then be the in the front so to speak.Probably didn’t help for the movies when PSH up and died before they completed filming the last movie.
Also Jennifer Lawrence

@Machpants it was short lived you are both safe, I suspect its just Val Kilmer sweaty that did it
Judging from recent pics of Val I suspect he'd get sweaty walking from the couch to the cupboard to get some more chocolate biscuits.
Tiniest bit harsh

He got snapped very overweight at one point at the beach, so he's fat forever now. He responded to a troll about his weight saying he's sitting atoun 74kgs these days. I'd take that weight thanks!

Hell I haven't been 74kgs since ... sometime in Secondary school probably.
And yeah, but not if the trade off is cancer

R.I.P.D.
Any movie featuring Deadpool and The Dude piques my interest. It’s not just a MIB rip-off as a lot of reviews have stated. I thought this was an entertaining movie and a fun watch. Kevin Bacon even makes an appearance playing another Bostonian.
3.5 coyotes out of 5 deados.
Oh, and Marisa Miller for the eye candy.

Worth watching for those cans alone....I've never heard of her but I think she might be my favourite ever actress

So I'd never actually seen Waterworld until tonight.
Admittedly it's only halfway through.
But wow.
Just wow.
I watched Waterworld again a few years back and thought it was OK. Not great, but not the dud some say.
I laugh every time Dennis Hopper says "Don't just stand there, kill something!".

Two disappointing movies over the weekend
Sicario: Day of the Soldado
A shit follow up to a decent movie. This has nothing of what made the first one good. It's serious men "being forced" to do serious things. Except, you know, develop a coherent story that you might actually give any sort of a fuck about. And then try to cover up for that with excess blood. The end is ridiculous.
2 dead mexicans out of 5 dead mexicans.John Wick 3
The two great modern day action movies are John Wick, and Taken. Both suffer from a run of sequals that get progressively worse. And this was pretty bad. The first had heart, the 2nd had less heart, but some cool set pieces. This was basically like watching someone play a video game on YouTube. Set piece to set piece. The last bit was like watching you move through progressively harder minions to get to the boss battle.
The worst bit? Watching fucking Halle Berry move through clearing a room even easier than John, suddenly made him seem much less badass
2.5 dead mooks out of 5 wait, that guy is younger than Keanu, why is he calling him "my son"? -
