Just watched Commando; been a very long time between viewings.
If you like a flimsy plot bolstered by overacting and the worst action sequences then this is for you.
My wife didn't seem as impressed with it as I thought she might.
Sorry to hear that mate. Plenty of fish in the sea though eh.
(although maybe not for Tahs supporting Kiwis)

Commando shits all over Sly and Bruce’s best efforts. By far. Terminator and Predator are also brilliant but I’d argue more sci fi than pure action.

You can argue about their definition of "mind-fuck".
As expected quite a few Christopher Nolan and David Fincher movies. And Kubrick films if you like him as a director.
From memory I've seen 55 of these over the years, some only once but others multiple times.
Any clear favs on that list? Your top 5?
My Top 10 (5 is not enough) in no particular order:
Memento
Moon
Ex Machina
The Usual Suspects
The Matrix
The Game
Get Out
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Se7en
Groundhog DayI like a lot more of them though.
My Worst 2 (and the two most overrated on the list, along with Arrival which I like but think gets overrated):
Mother! - such utter bollocks.
Mullholland Dv - see above, not even naked lesbian Naomi Watts in her hot days can redeem this.On Predestination, I've seen it, enjoyed it, recommended it to people, and I can't remember the actual story at all aside from the spoiler.

Did you watch Big Night?
Finally got to this. Fun movie. Wasn't expecting Abe from Marvellous Mrs Maisel to be in it! The beach "fight" is pretty comical stuff.
Enjoyed it overall, good recommendation, thanks👍

I’m pretty sure you can’t call yourself a man if you haven’t seen it or given it the respect it deserves.

Anyone watched 365 days on Netflix yet? Not sure I'm brave enough to watch 😇

The comedy in Die Hard sets it apart for me. Fill in the blanks type questions actually.
Commando is great. So are the others mentioned for various reasons.
Probably doing ourselves an injustice by picking holes in any of them.
Commando is just far superior given that Arnie is far superior than Sly and Bruce.

I'll give you Arnie over Sly (for combining comedy with action at least), but don't sleep on Bruce as an all-rounder.
Plus Die Hard had Alan fucking Rickman!!!

I always preferred Arnie to Sly, intentional or not he had great lines in his films, and he looks like a superhero. I don't see Willis as a head to head rival, he's smarter and funnier, a different animal altogether. Out of all those films from that era Die Hard has aged most gracefully imho. And I love Commando

I like Die Hard but to me it’s not the classic others make out. I loved Bruce in Pulp Fiction way more.

You know what I like best about this car? The price.
We'll take Cook's car, he won't be needing it
You know how I said I'd kill you last? I lied
Where's Sully? I let him go
Classic gold
right now I'm very hungry
