Four black men talking about their people for an hour. A subject you'd think they'd know about.
Fascinating and illuminating

So why can't all of this be important and worthy of focus? Creating change in and around policing and related policy to improve outcomes for groups over-represented in shitty police treatment (acknowledging the relationship with higher rates of crime) seems to be something that can gain more traction, more swiftly than the bigger underlying issues around Black on Black violence. The latter is deeply related to all sorts of socio economic stuff which will need (imo) a much longer term focus to effect change.
Black on black crime is too difficult a social challenge to tackle so instead let's focus on the ill-defined and unquantifiable 'chronic and systemic disease of whiteness' instead?

NASCAR's one black driver asked if they could cease to display the Confederate flag at NASCAR events, which they agreed to. 10 days later he finds a noose in his garage stall. Crazy
It’s crazy that anyone took this claim seriously

Infuriating.

The photos of the rope has been circulating from the beginning
The loop is big enough for a hand and is connected to the garage door. Apparently ropes like this are all over that track
People's bullshit detectors should go off very early on a story like this.

Wasn't the original story that the noose was in his locker?
Stinks of another Smollett action. I'm sure there will be no repercussions though. If BLM get there way there will also be no investigations into these incidents. Investigation like science and logic is racist.

This is a bit too conspiratorial.
Unless their action was designed to provoke widespread support for a black driver, and a show of solidarity among NASCAR drivers as they stand up against racism (perceived or actual).
If that's the case... lock them up!
If they came out and tried to put it on driver X or team Y then you'd be a little suspicious, but there's been nothing of that sort in the coverage I've seen.

If only someone had yanked on the rope before screaming fire...

There’s a classic Billy T James bit where he’s playing chess with a white guy, can’t remember his name but was a regular on the show.
They are reading the instructions on how to play. Billy T reads ‘black player goes first’... both him and his opponent (who has the black pieces) reach for their pieces to move first... -

At best Bubba is an absolute moron, the 'locker' element was mis-reported and Bubba all pumped on virtue & social justice decided that these garage pulls were actually racially charged nooses. A genuine mistake from a functioning moron.
At worst Bubba is 'racecar Smollet'. He cut the rope from the garage door put it in his own locker and then suckled hard on the teat of righteous victimhood in an effort to do his part in keeping racial tensions alive and well in the USA. This idiocy was worked out early and as a compromise to stop the fallout of the truth coming out they chalked it up to a misunderstanding over a garage pull. And we are all to assume that this is the only garage in Bubba's entire career where such a rope has existed.
Either a functioning moron or a twisted evil idiot. That's about as generous as I can be with race hustlers.

You'd thought NASCAR would have a little digging into this first b4 jumping into their march of solidarity.
But I guess they couldn't pass up the opportunity to show how un-racist they are. Helps greatly with marketing their sport no doubt.
Let's further the whites are out to get blacks narrative.
Facts be damned!!!! -
@Paekakboyz
It's what happens when the supply of racism doesn't meet the demand. -
@barbarian said in Black Lives Matter:
@Rembrandt But my understanding is Bubba didn’t find, report or announce the news of noose. NASCAR did.
So I'm not sure he can be either of these two things.
You're right. The story I got was that it was found in his locker but it appears that was false reporting. It was the fact that it was in his locker which made me give it a moment of credence. So it was a racist act in Bubba's general direction. I put myself through the torture of listening to his interview on 'The View', I'm not sure I can distance myself with the 'moron' comment but that is easy to say with hindsight bias.

I don't know if there was a right or wrong way to handle this.
They find a noose in this guy's locker. A pretty provocative thing to find, so they decided to launch an investigation. Knowing it would likely leak out, they decided to control the messaging and tell the public what they found and what they are doing about it.
Said investigation comes back and finds that it was innocuous and had been there for ages.
I don't know if you can really point the finger too much here at anyone. Seems a pretty logical set of steps from NASCAR.
