@taniwharugby read the book too, pretty good.

It's pretty close to the book for a dramatised version too.

    Black Hawk Down

Solid cast, showing the story of a monumental fuck up by the US.

TBH, I didnt think alot of this film the first time I watched it, but have watched it several more times now and I do really like it.

4 we'll be back in a couple of hours out of 5 medics!!

It's a great film. It does a great job of creating tension, you are on the edge of your seat from the minute they go into the hot zone until the end

Agreed, and then there's scenes like when the two Delta guys ask to get dropped down even though they know they're pretty much toast if they do.

That solid cast was crazy too: Eric Bana, Ewen McGregor, the goofy dad from Modern Family playing a Delta guy, the Kingslayer as a Delta guy, Orlando Bloom, Spud from Trainspotting, Tom Hardy in a bit part, Tom Sizemore, Jason Isaacs, Sam Shephard, Ari from Entourage, Josh Hartnett was the lead (whatever happened to that guy?), and some other familiar character actor faces.

Watching Empire Strikes Back again with Masters 8 + 12. Simply outstanding, a remarkable film. Great work, while EpIV always has a place in my heart, this one competes.

    Scarface

It's pretty flawed and Al Pacino plays such an unlikable arsehole but shit it's an all time classic. Definitely a pleasant surprise to sit and watch after scrolling Netflix. Some good moral messages about not getting too greedy, not to get high on your own supply and if you're the star of an otherwise quite realistic movie you can become Rambo/Commando when the script demands it ( or maybe the bad guys just happened to miss all his vital points ? )

In saying all that I have to give it 4.5 cockroaches out of 5 little friends

Right.. This is part Hawt, part movie review...
I'm working from home today, so stuck on 365days on Netflix to see what all the fuss is about whilst I'm "working" and child free.
The story line is actually pretty good, fed up girl "meets" mafia boss, lots of danger and drama, and although perhaps weak script, the acting is well... forgivable. Biggie cliffhanger too! Beautiful scenes around what looks like Taormina and a visit to Rome.

    One for you (Anna-Maria Sieklucka,and yes she's Polish @Snowy )

Jesus Michele Morrone , although I adore Italy I've never really been into Italian men but oh my...that man.
Both of them are much better looking in the film and obviously they are doing a lot of, ahem, intimate things.... 🤭

No idea how I will concentrate now and already searching Prime for an English version of the books😂

5 Italians sleeping with the fishes out of 5 stereotypical fern polish girls. Loved it!

I have just watched The Old Guard. An enjoyable action flick but not quite as good as I was expecting based on the trailer. I will watch again though.

    Setup for a sequel.

The Outpost - based on the true story of an American base in Afghanistan...imagine you find the most obviously indefensible spot to put an army base, well that's where this is set.

Finally got to watch John Wick 3, just what i needed lastnight. Was late to catching these movies but glad I did. Just a superb mindless pleasure with ridiculous gory violence. Love it
The wife complained when she looked up from her book about it so that made it even better. Killing a man with a book in the library ffs. Not sure what I was more impressed with, his use of horses in the stables or Halle Berrys attack dogs.
You could watch all 3 back to back to back and not regret a moment of it.
Just crazy cool shit, 4 something of 5 something

@Virgil JW3 is better than JW2 but the first movie is easily the best.

I'd like to see Keanu and Charlize reunite to do an action movie.

Speaking of mindless violence, I also watched Rambo: Last Blood a few days ago. Apart from the original First Blood, none of the others in the series will be remembered for acting, just good old fun action. You've got to give Sly his due for making a career out of mumbling his lines.

@R-L im not going to watch this movie but I will ask. I thought it glorified Stockholm Syndrome? Not the case at all?

Also funny how the story Beauty And The Beast is exactly that. I know Im not the first to bring that up but it's still funny.

    Greyhound

The new Tom Hanks movie about an inexperienced U.S. Navy captain leading an Allied convoy across the Atlantic while being stalked by German U-boat wolfpacks. This has just dropped on AppleTV+, and I can understand Hanks' disappointment the public won't be able to watch on the big screen due to Covid-19. Plenty of action and suspense but felt a little incomplete due to its short length. Don't be expecting another Das Boot but it does depict the chaos and excitement on the bridge.

3 Eagles out of 5 Grey Wolfs
