Maybe this was discussed somewhere and I'm super late to the party but Cane said some fans are brutal and he hasn't said a truer friggen word. FFS in the age of fake news, misinformation, and carefully manipulated sound bites, someone utters a true, from the heart statement and the purveyors of fakeness (news/social media) are on him about it. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, what actually is the rationale for playing Jordie at 14? Does anyone know? Has Foster explained it? Don't seem to have seen any evidence in the games so far of his particular skills being exploited.
Good to see Akira being given a crack. Had my concerns, but liked his attitude during his last outing

Good that he's selected Akira, unsure about Barrett, but both of those two changes are choosing between specialists.
Sadly, the Sotutu one is the worst, although easiest justified because experience, but it means that the selectors still aren't facing up to the 'Pick Both' trouble they've forced themselves into. The continued selection of Jordie exemplifies that.

@gt12 I didn’t bother to mention Jordie because I was pretty certain that they would select him, so wasn’t even going to go there.
I think Savea has played pretty well overall but thought they might spring a surprise and start Sotutu and use Ardie to close out the match.
Scott Barrett is due a big match I reckon.

Trying to think positive, Fozzie has at least tried for consistent team selection and can see why he wants at least 2 experienced loose forwards starting. Perhaps in a few games time he'll have Sotutu & Akira with some experience under their belt and have a decent squad at 6,7 & 8.

Understand the offensive bit, but we don't seem to have used it for some reason. The defensive bit makes sense if we're playing the Wobbles. But we're not.

Bit of a conundrum discouraging the opposition from an aerial bombardment when you could play the likes of Reece and McKenzie to draw in more good ball for counter attacks which are typically our strength. Playing Jordie with his height and powerful boot shows intention for attacking in opposition territory and playing safer in your own. That is my interpretation from what has been said.

It's a double-bluff - Pumas expect Jordie to boot the ball into outer space and set themselves up accordingly. However, Foster - the wily old fox - has other plans: Nuggie to ignore Jordie in the pocket and instead fire a bullet pass out to Mou'unga who quickly shovels on a hospital pass to JG, who's stood flat-footed as he's smothered by the Argie backrow well behind the advantage line. Genius deception from Foster & Co.
