@pakman what's a winker? One who winks? Or was that a spelling mistake?

What IS your new avatar? It's making my eyes hurt... 🙂

The real question is if it makes @R-L 's eyes water. 😳

I will make the effort to attend any Fern GOM get together.

As I have returned to a slightly more grumpier version of this look, I feel I will fit in well.

I gave that a like because it was funny, but I'd also take back those lineups in a heartbeat right now!

Just tried to order a takeaway coffee but wasn't allowed to because I didn't have a mask, despite the cafe being full to overflowing of people sitting at tables without masks. Apparently that's ok, but me, wanting a takeaway coffee, am a danger to society. I am happy my takeaway cup is going in the rubbish.

I have been inconvenienced by stupidity for about half a century now. No wonder I am a grumpy fluffybunny.

@crazy-horse You're a cop aren't you? You still working? Even if you aren't, put on a uniform from the local male stripper joint (Christchurch will be full of them) and drag the fucker off in a paddy wagon.

I had some nail scissors taken of me by airport security just after 911. I pointed out to the "security" person that I was the Captain of the aircraft (and hadn't just dressed up for @R-L 's pleasure). I advised him that I could could crash the plane at any time, if I wished, without anyone getting a manicure and that we had a whole heap of bottles on board that were far more dangerous. I let him take the scissors when I thought an anal inspection might be the consequences of the discussion.

    Stupidity surrounds us.
    GOM.

That is beyond absurd. I assume that's a self-imposed rule right, there is no Government mandate for that?

Went out for dinner last night for Mrs Boo's birthday.

Had to wear a mask on entry until we were seated with the other couple we were out with - about 10 feet from the door. Then could sit there sans mask for as long as we liked, until we walked the 10 feet back to the door, whereupon being outside we could immediate remove them.

    Queensland!

No, definitely govt mandate, and still ludicrous (or perhaps just dumb).

@booboo I don't understand. What does the rule actually say? You have to wear a mask when queing and when moving around a restaurant (pissing?)

Do you still have them mandated for public transport also?

@voodoo after the pre Easter outbreak govt introduced mask mandate.

Pretty much anywhere inside (where you can't socially distance) you need a mask, except if eating or drinking.

It was worse during the previous 3-day absolutely essential lockdown when we had to wear masks outside at all times, including while driving (what the actual f????) and even while running/exercising. What was scary was the number of people who not only complied but who were straight out Gestapo towards people exercising their common sense. My girlfriend and I went out running the first morning. We had masks around our necks but were farked of we were going to run with them on. The number of rude looks and comments was pretty incredible. Thankfully the police didn’t seem to care. I refused to wear a mask while driving and drove past several cop cars. No issue. But the cops in my area were pretty chilled, even during the initial lockdown last year.

@rancid-schnitzel Bloomfield was questioned about people out running without masks at a presser during Level 4 a year ago.

if you can run and breathe - you haven't got COVID

    was his take on it.

I always chuckle when I see car drivers wearing masks even when they are their car's sole occupant. Good thinking - minimise the risk of infecting yourself!

Apart from the odd Poindexter, police In Qld don't give a shit. If we have to be seen to be doing our job we may ask you to put on a mask. It would take a massive attitude fail for you to be fined.

Yeah the previous lockdown was a joke with the mask rules. At least the masks in cars and while exercising mandate has been relaxed.

Stuff like routers and wifi repeaters festooned with blinking LEDs which make a room look like Santa's fucking grotto.

Look you fluffybunnies, I don't need a bright green flashing light to know there's data packets flowing into a RJ45 port, I really fucking don't.
