Terrible last line of defence.
Wouldn't have needed that if Ennor didn't stupidly jam in
He’s got plenty to work on as a 13. His speed makes it worth it but he’s quite a bit behind Roane.
I just can't understand how he shot up the ranks off the back of being an excellent winger and a terrible centre. And at the same time fucked up Goodhue.
Crusaders played without respect. Throwing stupid passes, kicking ball away.
Ennor was terrible. Havili not much better with 3 offside penalties and some average plays.

@machpants no, him and Michael born in Sydney.

@gt12 i just knew they had the Highlanders and canes at home
Insurance agents assessing the risk and having the stats at hand. That’s why we keep you around I guess
Both of those teams will lose those games I expect. I’d bet against the Chiefs next week, given that we cant defend a mall and the Brumbies are so good in the red zone.

yet they turned down chances at taking lineouts close to the line tonight...

As long as the chiefs have average discipline, they should win imo

The Crusaders were terrible tonight. Looking great until someone got bored and threw a stupid pass or kicked...badly. Crusaders have looked beatable this year. Wouldn’t put too much store in this result. Brumbies scrum struggled but their defensive structure looked really good. Thought they lived off penalties.

One thing that was obvious was how much faster the Brumbies' ball was from the ruck. That's what made them a threat tonight.

Well, this is a real yawn.
I’m three games into the competition and far away from being convinced that tying ourselves to Australia is a good idea.
Maybe we need domestic competitions followed by a Champions league style pool and finals with Oz, Japan and South Africa (or pacific, USA)?
Agree with this. My interest has fallen off a cliff. I have the games on but definitely not watching as closely as i usually would. Hopefully the quality picks up over the next few rounds.

The first 30-odd
hoursminutes were just horrible rugby - time that none of us watching will get back.I was a bit surprised at how many of the top team got rested - it sort of telegraphed that the coaches weren't expecting it to be too tough. Ended up with a pretty ordinary XV on the field at the end with quite a few guys who've played not many minutes.
But, it's a longer season than last year and the Crusaders often have flat patches in regular Super seasons. Can't keep at finals intensity every week and I think they took their foot off the pedal a bit in the second round of SR Aotearoa.
Ennor pulled a Hugh Renton at the end of the first half and a bad miss on Banks to let in the try in the second. Couple of dumb plays by Jager at the end, as well.
Hopefully they - and a few others - will be better for the run.

That game reminded me of the bad old days of Super rugby when the much slicker NZ teams would try to do way too much clever shit without bothering to get the basics right. The Aus teams would just hang in there, build up a head of steam and then snatch an unlikely win. Obviously that didn’t quite happen tonight but fark me, the Crusaders did everything in their power to get the Brumbies over the line.

@antipodean don't complain about the ref vs the Crusaders.
Well refs let saders win this one
How so? What was the final penalty count?
