@godder A friend of mine worked for him (in his position of Attorney-General) and says that he's never worked for a better, more intelligent minister. He always listened, asked good questions and - didn't have a big ego.

The to and fro with Jupp is so good. The whelk competition has me in tears

Miles is the perfect foil for him. Most of that had me in tears - laughter, but man I'm going to miss Seanie (got to say that it seems that Rachel had quite a soft spot for him).

Jimmy pissing himself at the "I promise not to spit on you when we have sex tonight" was brilliant. How did he get away with that stuff? Miles, "on the fence about Hitler" also hilarious.

Yeah - I've been re-re-watching every "Sean Lock best of..." over the last couple of days. Some fucking classics, but sadly... the two Hitler references that I remember - haven't come up... I was worried they've been "cancelled".
I don't think I would have ever thought of him as one of my favourites, until he was gone... and now... yeah, he was almost always good, and a crucial part of the formula that made the 8-out-of-10-cats ensemble work.

    Some favourites:

    • "That's a difficult wank" - fuck... you can almost tell that he realised he'd said it out loud genuinely without thinking through the implications
    • "Okay, fine - I won't spit on you when we have sex tonight"... such a good ante offering
    • Carrot-in-a-box - fuck he was good at that, straight off the bat.
    • Nazi Island - "If you could bring anybody back from dead, who would it be?" - "The Nazi party. Because..." - "Nah, let's just leave it there... the end of Sean Lock's career, everybody!"

Actually - re-re-re-watching all these... there's been several references by him to his own death... it's been.. poignant.

    • The reference above - about his ashes to be spread in Morgan's eyes - I'd never heard, but... excellent
    • Today, I listened to him describe his preferred funeral as - being fly-tipped. Just drooped over a hedge somewhere, so that he could continue to annoy people after his death.
    • There was at least 2 other references that I can't remember. I had a zoom meeting at 2pm, that required (slightly suggested) the wines be started.

@kiwiwomble Sean Lock had cancer for several years. His producers have known he was ill for a long time.

@kruse One of your other references must have been when asked what he wanted people to say at his Eulogy. And he said

    "I don't care. I'd be dead"

    Peter Corby

Someone you've probably never heard of, but responsible for those perfectly-creased suit trousers businessmen had when leaving their hotel rooms.

Typical, the man who invented the trouser press prefers to live on a boat with crinkle-free clothing.

I don’t recall this happening since Sean Connery passed away, if you branch off into your own thread that proves you’ve made it.

I have no idea what I was doing in October 2020, but registering Sean Connery’s death wasn’t one part of it
