If Argentina play like they have against Wales and SA, these two games will be more of the same. Different style but still shit, sadly. It's all really marking time until we hit the world number 1 lion taming world champs - duh duh duuuuum (dramatic music)

@machpants Underestimating the Argies was one of the reasons why we lost to them, last year.

Thought Weber much better than TJ.

We've come to expect poor passes from TJ but he looked slower than he usually is, highlighted by not backing himself when Akira passed to him. Like a few other players he looks underdone.

I hope the players don’t think about the Boks the way some posters do on here. They’ll lose the game before walking on the field if that’s the case.

Reece is still the best 14. Attacking instincts are excellent.

Blackadder got caught out in defence several times. No thanks.

I think our defensive alignment particularly in the forwards went off the boil when the subs came on.

A lot of new ABs learning their roles.

It’s a big challenge for our coaches when we don’t have the mix of experienced guys coming off the bench.

@act-crusader It may be mostly inexperience. Papalii got caught out the same way early on. Can't afford to be caught out that way again.

Jacobsen to 8 and Sotutu off the bench is a better choice.

I think you are being too nice, that bench is quite experienced as a bench, they should be at least defensively not built of cardboard. I'd sack the AB defense coach (and the Wallaby one too, their slap tackles on Akira for example, were laughable).

Something is not right with our bench, we have dropped our level and intensity in all matches this year when our bench came on.

It used to be a strength, but now a weakness.

Not sure if its the balance of the players, the quality or the plan they've been given when they come on, but things def not good enough.

I would be happy with Jordan at 15, the kid is class.

@taniwharugby We haven't seen our first-choice 23 this year due to injuries. Some of these bench players are the 3rd or 4th rated in their positions, others are newbies.

For example, Moody and Tuungafasi haven't played. Ofa can still have his problems in the scrum but is experienced. Coles is missing too.

If fit, I am expecting Savea to play at 7 in one of these Arg tests so there will be some tweaking of the loose forward combinations.

in all seriousness it might at least partially be because some of those bench players have been "promoted", Savea and DMac for example were often very good off the bench, now we also have some former starters often on the bench (BB)...and it just seems to be taking too long to settle down

I'd like to see this team start (assuming Jordie is okay to play)

    1. George Bower
    2. Codie Taylor / Asafo Aumua (if Taylor is out I feel Aumua needs a run and think he would be a better starter than Samisoni)
    3. Angus Taávao (rotating out with Laulaula)
    4. Brodie Rettalick
    5. Scott Barrett
    6. Akira Ioane
    7. Ardie Savea/Dalton Papalií (Dalton to start if Ardie fails further concussion protocols)
    8. Luke Jacobson
    9. TJ Perenara
    10. Beauden Barrett
    11. Reiko Ioane
    12. David Havili
    13. Anton Leinert-Brown
    14. Will Jordan / Sevu Reece
    15. Jordie Barrett / Will Jordan (if Jordie is suspended I would like to see Jordan start at fullback with Reece coming onto the wing)
    16. Asafo Aumua / Samisoni Taukei'aho
    17. Ethan De Groot (another one that is a little undercooked)
    18. Nepo Laulaula
    19. Tupou Vaai
    20. Ethan Blackadder
    21. Brad Weber
    22. Damian McKenzie
    23. Brayden Ennor (had very little minutes so keen to see what he has off the bench).

@kiwiwomble @Bovidae yes but we have often done so much better with players when they come into the squad.

Looking at the players, there are some quality players, yet the standards have slipped considerably more than you would expect

Wasnt Moody likely to be back this week?

i think it comes down to fozzie changing things up each week so much, where as under hansen and post 2007 henry i feel there was more understanding on the best XV with the odd position being challenged and so bench player often knew thats where they were and so could focus on that role for a season....now it seems any position is up for grabs week to week, which on the surface is how it should be but in reality it means lots of people are trying to win it on their own when they come on

@taniwharugby I think Taukeiaho and Blackadder both coming on in the first half is definitely going to be take some sting out of the replacements in the 2nd half.

You've picked multiple players all over the place. Get off the fence...
