@frye for sure, but the drop off has been in all the games this year so far, not just yesterday.

I'd like to see this team start (assuming Jordie is okay to play)

    1. George Bower
    2. Codie Taylor / Asafo Aumua (if Taylor is out I feel Aumua needs a run and think he would be a better starter than Samisoni)
    3. Angus Taávao (rotating out with Laulaula)
    4. Brodie Rettalick
    5. Scott Barrett
    6. Akira Ioane
    7. Ardie Savea/Dalton Papalií
    8. Luke Jacobson
    9. TJ Perenara
    10. Beauden Barrett
    11. Reiko Ioane
    12. David Havili
    13. Anton Leinert-Brown
    14. Will Jordan / Sevu Reece
    15. Jordie Barrett / Will Jordan
    16. Asafo Aumua / Samisoni Taukei'aho
    17. Ethan De Groot (another one that is a little undercooked)
    18. Nepo Laulaula
    19. Tupou Vaai
    20. Ethan Blackadder
    21. Brad Weber
    22. Damian McKenzie
    23. Brayden Ennor (had very little minutes so keen to see what he has off the bench).

You've picked multiple players all over the place. Get off the fence...

The sooner he is not in the team better.
    Hurry up Ofa.

@kirwan I think that has to do with the uncertainty of whether some of the players listed first are available (injury/suspension)?

@kirwan that's more to do with uncertainty of whether they will be playing or not due to injury/concussion/suspension. The first person listed is the one who I think should start.

Thought it was pretty obvious but have updated my post to make it clearer.

So do you rest the players this game or the one before the Boks, clearly, they all need a rest before so it will be interesting to see how they rotate the players. I think Foxy said in that above audio clip that they don't intend on making wholesale changes.

Rotate in both, so you rest some here and some in the second. Gotta keep the momentum, and after Fosters fuck ups last year, they can't take Arg for granted.

Yep. I would bring 5 or 6 of those not used into the 23 each Puma game. Keep the competition going for places and try and develop combinations. Then best 23 for each match v Springboks.
Think maybe Papalii and Havili have earned a break to recharge next time. Want to have everyone firing for the Boks.

We will have to make a few changes because of injuries to Ardie and Codie, possibly a suspension for Jordie Barrett too. That's quite a few enforced changes already. I'd be tempted to make minimal other changes and give combinations a chance to glue together a bit more.

I tend to agree. Coaching staff best placed to assess who might do with week to refresh before sharpener in Puma 2 prior to facing the Boks.

Other than that. Stick with best available team.

Plenty of chances for game time in EOYT.

    Have you watched them recently?

They just about put away a 3rd string Wales team.

If it's not at least a 20 point margin then NZ should be worried.

Yes I have. I've also seen them get up after no games, covid cases, and a long time in lock down/quarantine to smash the ABs. Teams step up Vs ABs, and is pretty much the same squad. On paper ABs should smash them, but the same was said last year

@machpants well we shouldnt be ambushed like we were last year, we know they always hit the ground running against us, but we typically finish faster, so we need to start better against them.and sort our discipline out.

Agree, we shouldn't, doesn't mean we won't! I'm a long way off trusting post 2016 coaching team. I still haven't seen any real innovation or improvement in our week points. Ruck defence (still awful), physicality (beaten there by Argentina last year and Fiji this- can't judge on Tonga and Oz), defensive structure (poor this last game, scramble was excellent, but that's about players not coaches), etc

Yup, it's our first test against Argentina coming up. But imo, we shouldn't have lost the first ones physically either
