Lockdown/Covid Check In

I'm signing out of the fern, for a while at least.
Will check in and see how you are all doing but not post.
I'm so grumpy and shitty that it is unlikely that I will have anything of value to say. Irritable at best. My sense of humour has gone (if you thought that I had one).
So if one of you pisses me off it is going to be a verbal punch in the face and I don't want to do that. I've known some of you for over 20 years.
It seems my tolerance for lockdowns was four weeks. My tolerance for taking shit from other people is now zero @Bones . Best that I don't spread that around.
Not a dummy spit, just that I am a shit at the moment and realise it.
Maybe see y'all later.
Remember most of us have pretty thick skin, so the bar for causing offense is pretty high
Kia kaha fella, don't be a stranger, and feel free to pm anytime.

What the other Polish shelias said @Snowy, take care bro!

@snowy Kia Kaha mate.
Where the southern border is, is pissing me off. My mum, in Tuakau which is near Pukekohe, got an insect bite, probably from a white tail spider and it has gotten infected. She has to go to the local doctor daily for treatment. If it got bad enough she had to go to Hospital she would end up at Middlemore and my understanding is that no one could go with her. She is late sixties and her heart and blood pressure are what I am worried about. If I had to I would seriously consider sneaking across the border going through the back roads in the Wop Wops. Each time Auckland is a different level they keep changing the border. I was looking forward to seeing my mum just before the nationwide lockdown too because I had just broken up with my girlfriend of two years, and was lookin forward to chilling at mums house and watching rugby.
I get to play a couple more prezzy rugby games so I have that to look forward to and I have the NBA 2K22 coming my way by courier.

@snowy what everyone else said. Sorry you feel the need for a sabbatical, I guess your cellar is getting full. Probably best one of us doesn't end up there.
Hope things look less GOM soon. There's always a positive to every situation. Hill St must be much easier to negotiate at the moment.
Joking aside - we are a community and we are all there for you if needed.

I'm with @snowy on this lockdown. It's farking hard, I think everyone just fell over the line today at work. Feels like we're all working incredibly hard for less output; it's just inefficient. And then a sense of groundhog day.
Look after yourselves Ferners

Take care of yourself @Snowy
As a business owner, I can't imagine the stress of this shit, constantly knowing that your business can be put on ice at any moment. Take care of yourself mate.
On this policy, I don't see how NZ can sustain this uncertainty, but fuck me if they aren't trying. Jesus.
Japan, by comparison is pretty good - we still have a SOE and remote work, but we can shop and even travel (we're not meant to, but we can). Even then, we just lost a person this week who quit - it's a fluffybunny to get in and out of the country and they want to be able to see their family whenever we have time off. As they are from the UK/Ireland, things are pretty much back to normal there so they are going home simply because the lifestyle will be so much easier than having the danger of Japan shutting things down again.
When I compare that to NZ, where I can't got home even if I wanted to (No MIQ spots, plus my wife doesn't have a visa) then I feel really fucked off and totally jealous of this person.
It's amazing that everyone is just getting on with it and NZ is still where it is.

@canefan the country was kicked in the nuts last month, and Auckland is still being kicked
Yeah you don't need to remind me!

Had my second jab. Had an experienced nurse, barely sat down, quick chat, jab was quick and hurt more this time and off to observation after 2 minutes max. Once my son has his second my immediate family who are eligible will all be vaccinated.
When I heard there was a case in the Waikato I was like fuck! But it is far north Waikato, close to the border so hopefully they move border a little. Have a rugby team mate doing 14 days iso because he was at a Tauranga spot at the same time as the truckie.

have to say, the current protests in Melbourne are hitting me a bit hard, kind of thought we'd come to an easy truce, we'll hang around in the shit lockdown for a bit longer and slowly open up
im fully expecting a bump in cases coming as well probably some people who were sitting on the fence re getting the shot galvanising one way or the other, long and short i cant see any good coming from it
