Always tough to know how to vote after these sorts of games. I gave a vote to Sam Cane, primarily because he probably should not have been asked to start that game, definitely not to last the full 80 minutes, or to have to watch a turnover later in the match get turned into a game of social touch by David Havili.

Ditto. Ardie came close as did Coles.

EDIT: Thought QT did OK for an inexperienced guy in a tough Test match. Webber is streets ahead of TJP

Samisoni easily our best. Tupaea battled bravely. Cane had to shoulder a lot in the loose as others not as effective as needed. Thought Brodie much much better tonite. Rieko was dangerous. Coles very good. Not much else..

Ardie got a stupid yellow, gave away at least on other penalty and had a number of loose carries. He doesn't get close.

Agree in part. He had a strong ball carrying game in parts. One of the few ABs to really bend the French defence.

That suggests to me that our current pattern and tactics is making many of our players look lesser

it suggests to me we only had one forward who could make meters in close which when he dis other players could feed off it

Reiko, Taukeiaho are the two easy ones. Might go with Cane or Akira because if Ardie can get votes from this game then those two should as well. But probably go with Coles as the 3rd. He'd fit in well on the Grumpy Old Man thread so that's worthy of a vote.

I think it was gameplan. For the first half Akira was on the edges, in the second he moved in closer and started carting up. I find it hard to believe that it wasn't a 2nd half change in tactics.

Think these numbers are reasonable, not many above 5. Most judge far too kindly

Reiko because he was a constant threat and you can absolutely see why they want him at centre

Coles for a busy and assertive shift and some great set piece work

George Bridge for the biggest form reversal of the tour. Caught everything he should, actually looked good in attack.

Dropped a cross kick cold, and showed nothing when he had a chance on the outside to score.
