urgh.. do we reach 26 lol.. wow what a start

    ugh. Young goooone

wow, come on NZ some fight at least ...please

Conway for another 200 please, would do me nicely.

Take their bowlers into a third spell, and set up for CDG to thrash a quick 50 to win the game right?

feels like there's a meme here somewhere...

    Game over.

It’s unfathomable how you can go from being so dominant to being chewed up and spat out the rear end in the space of a few days.

Williamson gives an impression of being laid-back, but Latham can take laid-back to lethargic new heights as a Captain.

After about an hour into Day 1 of this Test I can't say I've been very enthusiastic to fire up the Spark Sport app. Everything about the first three and a half days has just screamed Bangladesh at Bay Oval. Phoning it in and leaving it for someone else to step up.

It's telling that CdG and Mitchell didn't play at Bay Oval, and so far they have been the only ones to front with the bat here...

Difficult for the current commentary team to fault his effort.

Lose to Bangladesh in embarrassing fashion. Next match pump the ever loving shit out of them

Smash South Africa in unprecedented fashion. Next match get flogged.

I just checked the score, I had no idea Blair’s Hartland and Pocock had been recalled

    Funny you should say that:

    Cricinfo: Stat from Sampath:

New Zealand openers collectively scored 4 runs in this match, the joint-fewest by a team's openers in a Test match

Southee was probably saying he was proud as a tail ender to have batting average under 10 against SA.

    Latham says hold my beer

Really dumb shots to be two down very early... the rest have to show far better patience & good shot selection otherwise we're going to get rolled pretty quickly.

I'd call it an unreservedly shit summer.

I wouldn't normally say it is embaraasing to get beaten by South Africa. But .... this team .... not great, at home ...
    NZ have been pathetic.

I don't think this great era is going to have a slow decline.

I hadn't realised just how much Latham's batting average of 41.68 is based on doing very well against the lesser international sides.

It is tough to understand why Martin Guptill apparently can't cut it at test level and Tom Latham is test captain - yes.

This is turning into Keystone Cop Batting, that ball was too full for Henry to go back to.

This is what happens when you play test cricket during the rugby season.

Really good solid defending by Conway, he's using soft hands like Williamson does.
