Yeah that bloody Sonny Bill. He goes to the one organisation in NZ that takes no shit from it's members and "employees" (the NZRU) and speaks to the bloke that decides who get to be the most revered sportsman in NZ (Shag) and says:

"Can I do this and this and this?"

And they all say "yeah sure"

But he's still a fluffybunny eh?

    RS has tried his best.

The usual sly digs and backhanded compliments trying to entice an argument are certainly getting less.

Fact is that SBW is committed to NZ Rugby and, with the cooperation of his XVs coaches is playing sevens. On one hand many are complaining that the NZRU haven't done enough to get the best players to Titch but if it's SBW then that is just glory seeking.

Mokey, your post seems rather cranky for you, but it is journalists trying to make a story that has made this " will he...won't he?" situation. He is just doing normal job decision making. As for the boxing side, if it is something that challenges him and stops him going stale then so what. I don't think anyone equates the level he fights at with the level JP does. Boxing hands out belts and titles for everything it can think of.

If I sound like a fanboy for pointing out how silly people get trying to foist celebrity status on someone then complains about it, so be it.

While it will get plenty of criticism ,that is a given, it will sell well as a pay per view event and both footballers ( not boxers , context ) will line their pockets

Wtf? All I wrote was that Id like to see him commit to the abs for a decent length of time but it would be out of character for him to do so.

What part of that is incorrect or is an attempt to start an argument.

As for the whole 'professional boxing' thing, gross. He's not a boxer's arse. Joe Parker is a boxer, and even the thought of SBW getting coverage and holding up some bullshit belt after fighting a decrepit tub of lard is revolting.

Very much, Nonu and Smith are a hell of a hard act to follow and the tone I got from the other thread was how much stronger the ABs would be if SBW came back. The midfielders they have are hardly short of talent, just experience.

Apparently none of them hold a candle to him as an "athlete" either.

Could say that about a lot of positions. Looking at the list shows a turnover that not many teams get. It looks worse when you think about the AB dominance.

The skeleton is still there, with a lot of experience including SBW if he's available. You're not badly served, otherwise. Fekitoa will work will with anyone and guys like Crotty or Ngatai are good.

It's the loss of combinations that take a little longer to get over.

Opinion on TSF is fairly even divided about the twat rating between you and I.

And I'll point out I've been more on topic than you re: SBW. You just came in, dropped a one liner about my point being retarded, then saw your trigger word and let fly.

So are SBW and the other guys earmarked for Rio all in camp or something? That's why he's not in the squad for Wales?

    The part about character.

He has committed to his employer for a decent length of time.
They are happy he is with the All Black Sevens and would be happy if he was with the All Black 15s. Had Barrett also gone to the Sevens would you be questioning his commitment to the ABs?
As for your other silly comments I have explained plenty that I just get sick of the bullshit talkback type comments that get directed at the guy. For years we had people claiming that he was a self centred glory seeker which has finally calmed down after numerous respected coaches have sung his praises for being unselfish.
I would guess Dan Carter has sold his stories to women's magazines far more than SBW and has also insisted on contracts that allow him to do stuff away from the ABs yet he doesn't cop half the stuff SBW does.

I can actually see both sides to that debate. It is out of character for SBW to sign longer than a year or two,but at the same time, I have not seen anything from him since he first came to rugby to show he is anything but a likeable good team member,
