The Night Manager
Had this on my list for a while and was worth every minute.
Hiddleston vs Laurie with Colman playing the dumpy looking agency wonk with a steel core to perfection.
Throw in some boobies and tense British drama and you're onto a winner.
Recommend.
hated it because i made the mistake of reading the book first. the end fuuuucked me off

The hype of the show ensured my actual viewing of it couldn't live up to it. It wasn't until after watching it I realised I read the book, but that was years ago so I barely remembered much of it. Le Carre's books are great but a lot of them tend to merge in my memory due to the style.

@Victor-Meldrew Murray is one of my favourite characters. I'm happy to see less of Mike - he's annoying.

Flight Attendant, with kaley Cuoco.
Decent series, although is one of those ones where the main characters pretty much does nothing they should do as they get deeper in the shit.
Finished Slow Horses, really liked it.
Oldman was superb.

The Guardians Of Justice
I get this is a parody.
I get the acting is supposed to be a little OTT, and it is a throwback to 80s culture with a healthy dose of cynicism. But jeez I found it hard to watch at points.
I mainly stuck around for the very interesting use of animation including cartoon style crossed over with 8-bit gaming memories of Double Dragon and others from my youth. That was actually interesting and really original. For that I'd recommend it.
You just need to get past some of the more overdone parts IMHO.

The Midwich Cuckoos - based on John Wyndham's book
Never underestimate the ability of British TV producers to completely fuck up a great story. Dull, tedious & slow tick-box dramatization. 3/10

The Boys season 3 is much better than season 2 so far.
I started watching last week and for some reason Prime language on my tablet defaults to English Audio Description, but shows just English, until I change it back both ways.
I thought it was a new thing they were trying , for the first 10-15 mins
I'd highly recommend trying it just for that bedroom scene! The audio description was actually piss funny.

Does anyone here still watch Manifest ?
The reason I ask is that I walked past the other half as she was watching it and astonishingly shit doesn’t come close to describing it. I’m so glad I gave up on it after it’s promising start. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a show take a nose dive like this ( plane pun intended )
I’m not sure how the fuck the actors manage to say their lines with a straight face….
“This calling chose you because it believes in you”
FUCK OFF.
I’m only tolerating this shit so as I can monopolise the TV in the main lounge for Obi Wan with my boys when they pop round…….

I've been watching 1971 on Apple+.
Supposedly about the 'year that music changed everything'.I watched this during the week. Really enjoyable and very graphic in places (e.g., the prison footage). Highly recommended.

Only Murders in the Building
Mystery-Drama-Comedy starring Steve Martin about 3 disparate & colourful NY apartment block residents who investigate a murder. Seems to have been inspired by a number of British amateur detective series like Agatha Raisin (no bad thing).
Really fun - quirky, well-paced with some great writing and acting.

It is good light watching even if Martin Short is horribly annoying.
