I always fully believed the Crusaders would be the team to beat despite the run of the blues , I was absolutely staggered that the TAB had the Blues as favourites..they got that totally wrong ..
I was even more confident the they would win after the semi finals last week and when Whitelock was cleared to play I knew he would play a massive part at line out time …no offence to my 2 Northland boys but they were up against a couple of locks that were world class ..

Watching Sir John Kirwin has been embarrassing and tells me everything why he should never have coached the Blues ..just a fan boy congratulations to the Crusaders, truly amazing franchise their attention to detail is next level ..

Just wish the All Black team was being selected this weekend ..
There’s at least 3 or 4 who would not be in my team .

Difference was the Saders had a completely simple and unshakeable gameplan. Tackle. Possession. Tackle. Run, Territory. Tackle. Everyone do their job. Did I mention tackle. Hard to see what the Blues gameplan was.

    Razor still needs overseas experience?

It was a fucking abysmal decision not to appoint him AB coach after 2019 RWC. Credit to him for staying in NZ would there must have been serious coin on the table for him to go overseas as the muppets at NZR suggested.

I hope he's not passed over for AB coach again.

@Bones You know the halfback can tell the forwards what to do ...

Oh. Nock said "Hey Ofa, look around, pick up the ball, look around again and then awkwardly roll the ball through your legs"

I didn't hear it on my feed, sorry.

I'm not sure we can blame Akira, it's not like any of the Crusaders loosies were dominant. It was the Crusaders entire pack and the work from 9 and 10.

If they had one it disappeared at the line out

@Duluth of course he’s going to make metres when he’s standing on the fucking wing!!

Did anything come from those metres? Nope.
Did you get smashed off the park in the collisions and breakdowns? Yep
Would having your biggest loose forward at the breakdown help?

I would also add, how many of the tackles were dominate?

It's the same shit we saw from frizzel... Just goes missing when the going gets tough.
what we need is a hard hitting scary mofo in the 6 that can turn the tide in a game like tonight ...

Last one to come close was Squire imo

Agreed, A Ioane looks great when things are easy but you never see him when the going gets tough, just like tonight.

Clearly it wasn't to win the lineout.

Winning set piece in wet conditions is probably more critical than on a fast deck because it will translate to possession and territory.

Was mighty impressed with our ball handling. With all that possession we could’ve turned it over a heap in those conditions but our ruck work and general handling was the best I’ve seen this year. We still pushed the ball wide and had runners in motion.

Once Blues got possession, we kept our heads and our discipline was significantly better than previous weeks.

The difference was the lineout. It was a huge amount of extra ball

    Whitelock is not done yet

After last weeks performance the Crusaders were the favourites. The Blues moved the lineout throws around, so wasn’t just locks being cleaned out it was all jumpers. But everything was off - throws, lifts,….

Hey you started it. I do realise the halfback can tell forwards what to do, thanks for telling me just in case I didn't know.

I can’t recall Jerry or Kaino spending half the game on the wing. Other thing about Akira is that for a big Hua his post contact metres are non existent

Atleast we won’t have to hear from Kirwan until the next season starts.

Credit to BOK and the refs, I don't think they changed the outcome and thoight they did well overall.

Both Ioane’s and B Barrett have been awfully quiet tonight.

Akira thinks his jersey has an 11 or 14 on it.

I’ve been drinking every time he hits a ruck. Haven’t had to get a beer out of the fridge yet

Careful. You can’t critique Akira’s work rate around here.

You need to actually have a work rate to critique! Everything he does is slow mo

    15 tackles 0 misses

Most runs of any Blues player

Second only in run metres to the fullback

Yeah, He looked really busy doing a lot of engine-room stuff. Not what you'd have said about him a season or two back.

@Bones FFS, don't be such a bitch. It's as simple as the halfback telling the prop to push into the ruck and leave the ball to him.
