    @canefan

Yeah, but does that sound like Foster?

He'd stay on to "prove" he has the goods. He has form in that regard.

Edit: except, sorry, he has no form in winning anything much. And he won't win a RWC.

Well, I'm happy with the status quo after that last test. We're surrounding Foz with good people now, so hopefully that works. His selection of assistants has been arse, thats now been removed and he's got good cattle in Ryan and Schmidt.

The players love him, the players wanted to give plums and moar the arse after the last NH tour. Foz being too loyal kept them on. Same as his player selection, so hopefully that will change too.

Robertson, again hopefully, has been given the wink for post RWC, and you've got Ryan as the continuity card that the NZRU gets such a hard on over! And he can take whoever he wants in with him. The new broom sweeping clean.

Reading further down in this at Robinson's quotes it sounds like the Board told him to get in line and that he had fucked up badly reputation wise.
The whole 'we are learning, we get things wrong' is a smokescreen for incompetence because those were all things that he, and his comms advisors, are paid to get right and at this level of appointed should. They aren't some junior execs learning lessons as the climb the corporate tree.

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/all-blacks/129605351/nz-rugby-admits-to-mistakes-before-reconfirming-ian-foster-as-all-blacks-coach

Well let's hope so. It seemed to me there was serious anger from the players at the way the team & staff had been treated by Robinson and it looked pretty justifiable

Just park that shit and concentrate on improving things rather than digging even bigger holes and make sure any relationship issues between NZR & the players & coaches are sorted.

“He has been under a lot of pressure, and I know Foz (Foster) doesn’t want to make it about himself, but I just want everyone to know that all the players have got his back. He’s a great coach, he’s got great coaches beside him, and we back him 100 percent. I hope everyone that reads this backs us because we are going to get it.”
Asked if Foster deserved to stay in charge, Savea’s response: “Like I said, he’s my coach. That’s it.”

What are they going to get?

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/all-blacks/300661362/thats-my-coach-i-back-him-100-per-cent-ardie-savea-makes-all-blacks-stance-clear

Foster's back I think. The sentiment is really strong and complicates any Foster decision by NZR.

“'That's my coach, I back him 100 per cent'.....He has been under a lot of pressure, and I know Foz (Foster) doesn’t want to make it about himself, but I just want everyone to know that all the players have got his back. He’s a great coach, he’s got great coaches beside him, and we back him 100 percent. I hope everyone that reads this backs us because we are going to get it.”

Ardie is such a nice fella.

I wonder how many of the rest of the squad feel this way ?

And when he gets a new coach, he'll get 100% support too. You're never going to say your current coach is ratshit, doesn't make for a happy relationship!

Oz in Oz, Eng in Eng (last test) will be the tricky ones. I don't see us beating England as we are playing ATM

You’re forgetting Scotland are due too. This is their year.

Actually given how the All Blacks have played this year they could ALL be tricky. Not sure where your confidence is coming from.

Nowhere it was in response to the 'we will win all the rest'. I'm thinking we won't, min 2 more losses

Ok. I did the safe fern thing and went on the offence to a slight that probably wasn’t there. As you were.

Argentina could be a pretty stern test from what I've seen of them. Hoping we see continued improvement - don't think any of us could survive another Ground Hog Day of one good Test followed by two poor ones.

Me neither, but this is Foster Master of inconsistancy we are talking about. A couple of good games against Arg, then relaxed in Oz, boom - loss. We may even see the Blacklash in Eden Park

so what happens if we lose the Bledisloe and then a couple on the EOYT? The time to move was straight after the Irish series, but didnt, now, they need to give him what he needs.

Still unsure how Teflon McLeod has stayed through all this, more so while other coaches under Fozzie were dragged through this too, McLeod was barely mentioned.

    NZR really seem clueless.

    Then we're SCREWED!

The decision is fair enough at this point. Razor might not want to be parachuted in on short notice and frankly he deserves his proper coronation. They can’t keep having reviews. They’ve got one if not the best forwards coaches. Players love Fozzy. Yup.

Now for the love of god, please extend Razor’s deal til 2050. Can’t have him coaching England.

Ok you are all probably right I am just still upset our worst coach in recent memory gets the best coaches to help him fall over the line.

    Unfortunately.

There's plenty of coaching nous in the mix now between Ryan, Feek, Cron, Strawbridge and now Schmidt..

Fozzie will be the media fluffer and the boys' shoulder to cry on while the assistants create the master plans.

So basically team manager like I suggested before. The coach one tries to keep away from actual coaching.
