@Kirwan i watched that this morning, and sadly my first thought was
"social media (most certainly including this joint) would fucking explode and call for a few of those guys to never, ever wear black again"
we as fans have lost a lot of the magic of rugby in our over-analysis and demand for perfection.

went and watched the club lose their grand final on sat....but the day in the sun with $5 beers, $2 sausage sizzle and then the night back the the club room.....even if we did lose the game... was so much better than almost any win the AB's have had over the last few years
i remember screaming about this or that call by the ref during the game...dont remember mentioning the ref once afterwards, enjoy the good bits...forget the rest
all of this was happening at the same time as the ABs and Aussie games were on...no one watched, top level rugby is so far disconnected from grass roots it laughable

@muddyriver i know right, i know there are lots of things that need to be fix with rugby....but allowing those that like rugby enough to actually be involved in a club to watch has got to be a start

@canefan the only thing i'll add to that is i think they have made themselves more important at least partially because there is more and more outcry from people...like us....for things not being pulled up in the past, i think part of fixing things is for the fans to chill out and accept calls will generally go both ways

How about the players and coaches finding every little way possible to make the refs job a nightmare? Pushing the envelope continually and then crying that the refs are blowing the whistle too much is a bit rich.
You still need rules/laws to play the game and therefore someone has to keep both teams within those rules to keep things fair.
The refs don't commit fouls or act illegally, that's the players. Add in the coaches that get them to push the boundaries.I'm happy to continue calling for consistency and for as much accuracy as possible, also for refs to have a 'feel' for the game and allowing minor infringements to go uncalled if both sides are doing the same thing. Campo just wants rules to apply when it suits.

Raynals performance on Thursday was the current malaise the game faces writ large.
Fucking farcical.
Foleys fwd pass to Kellaway for the try missed.
Foley practically chips the conversion kick over Raynals head to avoid it getting looked at again.
Swain not getting a red......and the commentators lack of froth about it.
Angus Ta'avo got 6 weeks for an accidental head clash that knocked himself out.
Tupea had his MCL ruptured and a partial ACL tear. Fucking unacceptable.Foketi's turnover that was going to win the Wallabies the match. He crawled into the ruck on his knees within 2 yards of the ref. Penalty Australia.
The correct (but never ever fucking given) time wasting penalty to award NZ a scrum.
Then Mo'unga gets to take a drop goal conversion while there is a camera man on a Segway under the posts and about 5 Allblacks in front of him fighting with Folau Fa'ainga. Dane Coles can be seen running in from 20 yards away for some biff.
The conversion was immaterial to the result but indicative of how Raynal had lost complete control of proceedings.
Will Mathieu Raynal be the star of the show in the first Bledisloe test?
Whoâll be the star of the show at Marvel Stadium on Thursday? Will it be Rieko Ioane? Captain Fantastic Sam Cane? Marika Koroibete or Rob Valetini?
