Given that the Police are just such a staple on safe, boring middle of the road radio stations it’s easy to forget that they did some damn good music back in the day.

All three were SERIOUSLY talented in their own right and together were even greater than the sum of their parts.

Here’s a few favourites I’ve been listening to in the car that pretty much receive no commercial airplay.

@MN5 saw them at the Caketin on their (final?) tour that included NZ. Awesome musicians and so stoked I managed to see them live.

@MN5 I agree with your sum of their parts, I'm a fan of the Police, but I hate Sting's solo music. You want to know how to get info out of me, no need for 24 heavy metal in my cell, just 15 minutes of Sting and I'll spill everything.

Haha I’m like that with the Eagles……Hate them but love Joe Walsh !!!!!

Sting did a few decent tunes on his own though I’m sure.

So the opposite way round with the Eagles. TBH, I have no idea whether I've heard a Joe Walsh song.

And nope, they're all awful.

@taniwharugby saw them play in Hammersmith a few years back. Brief show but all the hits. Jam Master Jay's son takes his part now days.

When I think of all my favourite flugelhorn players this guy is always top of the list.

So soulful, jazzy and sexy.

If you play this next time you’re with your woman and the panties don’t drop then there’s something wrong with you.
