I'm sick of these people on here claiming we need to find a second option to JB.

So your answer is not to bother about any back-ups at 12 and just play Jordie there and give bugger-all thought to managing his workload?

The only problem with that is what you do (apart from blaming Foster for being an idiot for not developing MF options) if/when Jordie gets injured.

It would appear we need someone other than DH to cover 12. And that person, whoever they are, probably didn't play at Murrayfield. They would have been better off trying out RTS at 12 because we know what DH brings

Frizell good since he has come on. Offering more than Akira on attack.

Cleans were most notable improvement. Akira was OK.

DH was damn awful. Is it Crucial who owes us all an apology?

DH is a damn good player. Under Razor. Unfortunately for DH, Razor isn't the coach and the current coach has the inspiration and coaching ability of a pre-born nat.

I'm sick of these people on here claiming we need to find a second option to JB. We have 10(?) tests left before the QF. We do not have the fucking time to find backups. JB and ALB were more potent on attack in their few minutes running 12 lines than DH all year.

Ma'a Nonu had 70 odd tests at 12. He partnered CS 62 times. We have a 6th of that time between now and the QF to get RI and JB to gel. We have to trust they won't get injured and if they do, the backups will stand-up and do the job.

We just don't have the fucking time.

I have always been quite keen on DH, but I now admit perhaps he is bloody good at super level and the step up is where he struggles maybe. Nothing really to do with coaching , more ability maybe?
And I of the opinion we do need an option at 2nd 5, as I can hear the moans of Jordie is injured and noone there to take over. I actually thought ALB looked ok at 12 when he moved there, and as I always tended to prefer him at 13, maybe he midfeild cover? Though we in reality need 2x 12s as well as 2 x13s.
I did think the game showed that Codie is still a bloody good hooker, and TJ has made the 9 race interesting again, but I not overly convinced on Christie, so that just maybe me.
All in all an 8 point win will do me, that Scot's line up wuth Hogg and Russell in backline is pretty bloody good.

BB loves a low percentage kick pass... Does my head in. Looks spectacular when it comes off... But that's the exception

Looked to me they were not doing it often, just seemed to relax on contact.

Will add along with TJ , I thought Frizzell bought a bit to the game with close in carries etc, seems well balanced back row with him Dalton and Ardie.

I hindsight, I think you're right. Sense they were hoping to get well on top of the Jocks and the give Perofeta or DH a stint at 15 to see how ALB & Jordie went in midfield. Sadly didn't work out.

I hope that ALB game was a one-off. He's normally really reliable.

As has been said, need to give RTS more time - he looked OK against Japan. How many years have we have a stuffed up midfield now?

@Victor-Meldrew our line defence and in 22 has been mainly decent under McLeod, but it is alot easier to defend there not needing depth in your defence, but when further out we give up so many metres far too easily.

I don't think there's a heck of a lot to "coaching" on the line defence. Comes down to fitness and grit. I wouldn't be too quick to place any of that on McLeod.

I would be quite happy to credit him with the fact we've got to see a lot of on the line defence this year. Practice makes perfect eh?

Sure did and always has in my opinion... It commits defenders and creates space outside him...kinda what a 10 should do 😁

@Bones I didn't say it was a credit, just that we had been mainly OK under him there...but agree, it was probably due to him it meant we got more practice 😅

@Victor-Meldrew The ABs missed 20% of their tackles in this game. Not good enough.

Not in this game for sure, but apart from out wide, I don't think it's been that bad.

Horrible but at least we have a few things straight.

Papali and Savea absolutely must play together, 2 out of 3 settled in the back row.
Let’s get rid of Havilli now.
Beaudan Barrett has not been the answer at 10 for about 5 seasons, for all the blame Hansen got for the semi- final he was spot on with moving BB from 10. His kicking and game control utter shite.
Finlay Christie has had two opportunities now, and I think we know what we have and it’s not enough.
Havilli is done, we have enough options.
Can anyone really tell me Caleb Clarke is the best wing n NZ? If he does not knock someone out in the first minute not sure what he’s good for. Cannot stay upright long enough for an in and away.

Scotland are champions of not seizing the chance. That was a golden opportunity.

Best ABs were Talea then the bench who were to a man better than those they replaced. Frizzell will start at 6 vs England.

We are really quite crap at the moment.

Oh and I see Razor won.

ALB is running in custard. He isn't the answer. He has the brain, but his body can't match the IQ. Neither powerful nor fast.
