Great last stand. This is turning a well below par total to just a below par total. Hopefully it is annoying the heck out of the Pakistanis as well.

It is well past our previous highest batting first score in Pakistan so above par IMO.

But yeah. At the start of the day I thought around 360 so this is all added bonus.

Plenty of foot marks for the spinners outside off to both the RH and LH, But need to hit the right length to exploit them

Big delicious mince pies are obviously the national dish of Pakistan judging by Henry’s selection…..

Look I loved his efforts against SA last year…..but does anyone seriously think he’s capable of anything resembling that in hostile overseas conditions ?

Very harsh on a proven performer like Wags. Not impressed.

    Slightly belated assessment.... 🙂

Six more runs to match his 58 vs South Africa!

His extra pace might be handy pitching it up against the tail....

Wags was pretty ordinary in test 1.

    Already exceeding expectations.

Big ups to Ajaz. He has faced more balls in this partnership than Henry.
Not just surviving and feeding the strike. Very well done.

    He’s a bowler, not a batsman.

( although I do love a tailender having a swing and doing well, he has some talent )

@MN5 We've yet to assess his bowling.

He needs five runs to exceed his batting vs SA! 🙂

That’s one in the face for Pakistan. Made them have to take lunch and come back out again.
    Excellent partnership

@Crucial Yeah - I'd be fuming if someone had done this to us.

They'd have hoped and expected to have us done for 350- probably slightly below par - now we're possibly a bit above with more to come.

I love a big last wkt stand it just Fucks with the oppositions heads, not great when it’s happening to you though.
brilliant from Henry 56 off 59 balls and excellent support from Ajaz 31 off 63 balls.
Another 30 or 40 minutes of this after lunch just to stick it up Pakistan a little while longer.

Henry with his Action is more likely to get any reverse swing, where Wags was average last test he looks a bit under cooked.
Worth a punt it has already paid off with the bat.

Yeah. I particularly like the Sensodyne moments with four unfortunate fans plucked from obscurity to consume hot and cold food and drink while looking very uncomfortable.

Or the Tea break ... or the experts view brought to you by ....

It's great to have games back in Pakistan, although it does almost feel like it's more important to us than to the locals. Can't remember the crowds for the England games, were they decent or just as appalling anybody know?
