Closing Time - Semisonic
Sounds like someone was all too familiar with the lights coming on at the student pubs in Hamilton at 3am and not having a female within groping distance. Don't hate the song - hate your lack of game.
usually i was working.
But even beyond that, you didn't need game in Hamilton in the 90s...
Do you hate Easy (Faith No More version) as well? I can't remember which one of those two songs was the original last song.
Ferners to have a beer with….
NepiaWait, why? For asking Mariner a question?
No for saying you hated FNM.
Actually I’m re reading the question and I may have let the offence and outrage take over, sorry about that !
Fuck, I nearly got cancelled for not saying I hate something.
FYI - I love FNM. In 1993 on a rugby tour in Oz I bought 5 different FNM t-shirts and a hoodie at Paddy's Market.
Friends say he's trying too hard and he's not quite hip

@MN5 I was more referring to @Nepia trying too hard, but ok...
My actual try harding was the Public Enemy shirts I bought at the time for the brown street cred.

I was never confident enough to go for a NWA hoody unlike those white boys from the mean streets of Karori.

Breakfast at Tiffany's - Deep Blue Something
Great shout, I disliked songs people pretended they were clever or sophisticated because they listened to them.

The 90s was full of songs of that genre. Other artists of that ilk were the Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows and Soul Asylum.
Kinda 33% rock, 33% pop, 33% indie 1% soul and 100% utter shit.

Escape (The Pina Colada song), Rupert Holmes
That’s a good call too. I will top it though.
Whilst it is frowned upon to say “anything by such and such”, I will give you:-
Never let her slip away by Andrew Gold.
Lonely boy by Andrew Gold
Anything by Andrew Gold -

Anything by Andrew GoldI'm not sure "top" is the word you're looking for ... but I have to say that song cannot be bottomed. Even by Dirty Dancing's "Time of My Life".
Also not in your favour in the fight to the bottom is I have never heard of your listed songs or the artist.

@booboo If we are plumbing the saccharine depths of the sea of shitty songs what about Mysterious Girl?
Had to google who sang it; Peter Andre
Also there's a really annoying song by some whiny brat Friday Friday - all about, you guessed it Friday, and how weekends are good.

Andrew Gold is the genius behind the Golden Girls theme! (albeit the theme was sung by a lady)
