@Bovidae and The Other Guys!
"There are three things I love in this world: Kylie Minogue, small dimples just above a woman's buttocks and the fear in a man's eye who knows I'm about to hurt him."Was that him ? Love that scene ( amongst others in that awesomely silly movie )

They tanned his hide when he died Clyde and that's him hanging in the shed.

Just had a quick google of his crimes.
Apparently he never showed any sort of remorse.
Just another disgusting sex pest who used his power, fame and money to get what he wanted and probably thought he was untouchable. I’m glad he did some jail time at least.
Also his songs and voice were fucken irritating.
I won’t be trusting British Paints.
You won’t be missed Rolf.

The70s were like the Golden Age for sex predators in show business. Saville, Harris, Cosby, Glitter, lots more I am sure

Absolutely. Rightly or wrongly I’m extremely mistrustful of pretty much any “family entertainer” of that era and I wonder what secrets they may be hiding.

What about the 70's rock stars you like? Basically Jimmy Page didn't go to jail is because his music is considered cooler.
-
Elvis? Wasn't Prescilla like 14? But it really seems to have been a serious fetish thing in the 70s. Actually there are some rather disturbing articles from that time attempting to normalise paedophilia.

Yes a definite grey area for some of that era for sure
There was that period about a decade ago where suddenly some historic allegations were looked into. Rolf Harris was one of those.
But compare the way Cliff Richard was treated to Jimmy Page. There was proof of one person offending vs accusations of the other.
Whats the difference? If 'Mistletoe and Wine' had a good guitar solo would they not have investigated Cliff? There's so many open nonces from that era of rock that nothing happened to because mainstream culture has given a pass to some but not others

You do make a good point. The Page relationship at best was creepy and weird. I think she was with him for a couple of years all up ? I guess it falls into the can of worms of “wanted” vs “unwanted” advances ( and obviously Elvis married Priscilla )
I’m also now picturing Jimmy Page on stage with Cliff shredding some licks over “mistletoe and wine”

And Roman Polanski who literally drugged and raped a 13 year old girl.

Yeah as I understand it he can never set foot in the USA ever again ?
In his case he gets a lot of sympathy from the whole Manson saga though.

No, despite the best efforts of Hollywood. Tbh he probably gets more sympathy having experienced and lost his family during the Holocaust. Iirc he was a serial adulterer and was probably with another woman when Sharon Tate was murdered. At any rate, nobody should be given a pass for abusing kids.

Yeah I possibly should have made it clear the sympathy was not from me, absolutely no excuse for what he did.
…..and anyone even thinking about cheating on Sharon Tate clearly isn’t right in the head at any rate.
