Blues up to 42 points, one ahead of the Brumbies. Big performance needed now from the Chiefs.

Do we prefer to play a semifinal in Hamilton or Christchurch?

Wondering if the Canes shit goal-kicking has cost them this game

    36-25. 12 easy points missed

Shit goal kicking and shit lineout first half were the worse aspects. Get Cameron at first and hopefully Coles returns and canes might give Crusaders a run next week. But inly if the lineout and goal kicking imprives

I feel like Telea is like a league winger in that he is not super fast but really good in a tight space. Some of runs are like scampers out of dummy half.

The opposite of Clark. Outstanding balance and strength - solid lower back means he just doesn't bend

Sounds like you are describing Cory Jane. And he was a very good All Black

I think 12 easy points is a bit over top, think 8-10 I would of hoped for, but as we know any successful kick changes the next thing that happens. Even Blues missed a sitter, so I wouldn't right it off that easily.
But I will if the Canes had of kicked another 15 points I have feeling Telea would of just scored 5 more tries, man he was fairly good wasn't he?

Wasn’t Rayasi offside when he kicked the ball for the try? He looked in front of the JB touch. Seemed like the TMO only checked the offside for the second kick

    @LABCAT

If the Chiefs beat the Brumbies in the next game the Crusaders could do the same and rest a few players as they can’t be caught for 2nd if the Chiefs win.
It could be the battle of the second stringers.

Couldn't agree more, coaches probably won't or shouldn't risk more players than they need to if they get into that position!

    What a game.

Surely Mark Telea is the AB 14. Imagine those trys in a World Cup!

I have always been a little skeptical of Telea in the ABs simply because he doesn't stand out in terms of pace and size.
But he takes great options, is as slippery as an eel, and I know fuck all about rugby.
    He's gotta be in.

@Frank He also played well vs Scotland and England last year. Pretty useful trial.

Telea is such a solid player. May not be as spectacular as a Will Jordan but utterly dependable.

Def. the sort of player you need in a RWC.

He was due, there were beginning to be rumblings that he'd been quiet recently after the strong start to the season, so excellent to see.

On tonight's evidence I'm not even sure that's true ...

Yeah I've got him above Jordan. Just makes every decision on the money. But I don't seem to rate Jordan as high as most people anyway.

Mark Telea has a bit of Lukanyho Am about him.

You don’t quite know how or why he is any good. But he is.

Lacks the top end gas I like to see in my NZ wingers though.

He’s better than Caleb Clarke anyway.

I'm going to be honest, I didn't know Telea was slow. I mean he's half black South African so I just assumed he was fast. 😉

Anyway, I think it's rule for the ABs to have a slow winger in a RWC - it worked out with NMS, not so much with Bridge though.
