On Saturday I had a kitchen flood, and I had to spend the entire weekend cleaning up.

Put this on today, one of the great forgotten 80s albums. Goes down well with a G&T.

Lots of channel X recently. Some feel good retro alternative, pop and rock from 90s/00s with no adds or news but oh so many memories

    channel X: Your Throwback Playlist

channel X is all-killer, no-filler radio station that plays your favourite tunes from the 90s and 2000s, 24/7.

Yeah the other half and I listened to that on the way to Hawkes Bay the other day. Brilliant station. I haven’t heard Primus on commercial radio for ages.

Festival Time of year here ... so see a lot of old school bands that I've forgotten about come out of the woodwork. This year it's the Manic Street Preachers for me. Really love a lot of their music. This top of the tree for me

For a bloke who sees himself as a songwriter and not "real" guitarist, Mike Rutherford plays a mean guitar.

This is kind of a forgotten 80s classic. It's also the most 80s song ever.

Shout out to Handsome Kevin, hope he's doing okay.

    Released today in 1979.

Strangely when it came out the good oil was that it was a secret Beatles recording

@taniwharugby I saw a band many years ago, at Disneyland of all places. They played a lot of Michael Jackson songs and gave them the 'rock' treatment. They were very good. Hearing the songs like that made me appreciate Jackson's song writing in a new light.

Hearing Billie Jean covered by... well - pretty much anybody... but it was Neil Finn that was the catalyst for me... yeah - fucking good song-writing.
And the fact that an abomination like Alien-Ant-Farm can make a decent-sounding song from his stuff... solid testament.
Was it him doing the song-writing though? If so - solid props.

Not entirely sure about the song writing to honest, just assumed he did. Actually a quick google shows Jackson wrote Smooth Criminal and Billie Jean so I assume he wrote Many of the others too.

Neil Finn and Billie Jean. Who would have thought he could have nailed it acoustically like he did. Apparently he only had a short time to rehearse as it was a dare on one of Andrew Denton's (I think) radio shows.

Just home from a solid pub session with a good mate watching some random covers band.

Metallica, Nirvana, RHCP, FF’s, Grinspoon, Pearl Jam, Dave Dobbyn (!), Sublime and more

You just can’t beat live music at the pub

MJ ( and Prince for that matter ) exchanged normality with the devil at the crossroads for ungodly musical talent.

Both absolute geniuses but fucken weird cats.
