‘The Marvels’ Ends Box Office Run as Lowest-Grossing MCU Movie in History

‘The Marvels’ Ends Box Office Run as Lowest-Grossing MCU Movie in History

'The Marvels' will end its run as the lowest-grossing MCU movie of all time.

Yawn. Just don't watch, it's not a genre you're forced to watch. I don't watch horrors and don't listen to yacht rock 😉 because I'm not forced to.

But if it is a genre you like and they fuck it up by jumping on every band wagon of the day, you can be pissed off. I love fantasy, and am a total ME nerd, then they made the abortion that is the rings of power. Not only did it shit on the lore, it was also shit. Same as the latest MCU stuff.

No I'm not forced to watch it, but I can still be pissed with what they spend millions making when there are really good examples out there of how to do it properly

Have you seen The Marvels? In my top half of MCU films, thoroughly enjoyed it

My reply wasn't specifically about The Marvels but about being told to 'not watch' (like Ozzie rugby supporters were told during RWC) and stop whinging about genres I am a fan of when studios churn out shit

is it just me or are the just less movies than ever now? certainly at the cinemas anyway. I feel like every release day there was a heap coming out, but now a new one every so often

Or is it just that the marketing misses me so easily?

@mariner4life ive had the same thought, we have some gold class tickets and Mrs Womble asked if we should go and see the Marvels as it was one of the only things on we might watch...decide to wait for disney plus

I think a lot of movies were delayed during the strike (dune 2?) so wonder it thats it

@mariner4life probably that too...the streaming services land some big name actors and if theyre filming those then they're less likely to be doing a cinema release

Yeah, I think a few of the "bigger" movies were delayed.

I've only struggled to find a movie to watch once or twice this year. But I'll mix it up with the main cinemas and Palace etc who have more arty films too.

For the record, Barbie - was way overrated, my wife and I thought it might be good with all the hype, but an overly musical fluff piece with a few funny gags but ultimately dragged on too long.

I do look like comic book genre, I still dont mind some of the Marvel movies, but there have been a few post end game failures. I actually thought for DC the Flash was better than I was expecting.

Lots of movies delayed by the strike, think I read only maybe Deadpool might be completed for next year for Marvel, the remake of Blade also pushed to 2025

in saying that haven't been to a movie theatre in about 6 months

    Post of the year.

It’s like he looked at latter day Marlon Brando and then thought “hold my beer”

( not too long, he’ll want to chug it then and then plow through about 20 more after that )

Göring had a chin at the Nuremburg trials. Going to take some discipline or powerful CGI to achieve that.

Apparently the new John Woo movie is good.

Disappointing. Just watch Hard Boiled or The Killer or Bullet in the Head or Face Off or even Broken Arrow.

    Violent Night was much better.

Just make your protagonist an ex special forces dude. The learning to become a bad arse through watching vids etc was fucking stupid and took up the bulk of the runtime.

    Matriarch (2018)

British low-budget horror film I saw on a late night horror slot and recorded it on the off-chance it wouldn't be shit - and it wasn't. Great premise, some good acting and some genuinely unsettling moments. Bit of a hidden gem.

Just under 4 rabid werewolves out of 5 Ed Geins

I've heard rave reviews from several people. Might be our pick for the Christmas Eve movies. Surprised its IMDB score is so low.

@MiketheSnow Slow to start with, but got better as it went. Cinematography was a bit irritating and needlessly showy/ clever. The consistent use of ominous music was irritating.

I get the feeling the deer were added just to ensure the audience were held in suspense but their inclusion and behaviour made little sense in the end.
